@Bri Mangum so some of this is just them still learning the game. I think the best way to learn instincts is playing or watching baseball. You’re dealing with shorter attention spans at that age 😂 I don’t think this is something you teach in game. In a practice I would show an example of both.

@Ashlie Hall love this! Generally, sliding mitts are put on to protect fingers from getting jammed on head first slides. Back when I was playing, they were just solid colors and looked like oven mitts. Recently they have been a fashion statement also. Is it necessary at 8 years old? No. I’m not sure they are even allowed to slide headfirst yet. Are they super cool and can make the game fun? Absolutely. This is up to you all in my opinion! P.S. don’t be afraid to ask questions as a stand alone post in the group so others can see it!
