Finding your message (and getting paid to share it)
The lighting is terrible. The hair is wild. It's REALLY hot out... Ah, but maybe that's why I have a BURNING question that I just can NOT hold on to anymore... *Ba-dum ts* 🥁 Jokes aside, I figured this group is a pretty good place to ask this question that I keep turning over in my mind (again and again and again)... Merci beaucoup for taking the time to listen! Oh yes, and I forgot to introduce myself in the video: hi! 👋 I'm Rachael Johnson, a former music teacher turned copywriter & messaging strategist who has a goal of encouraging you to go forth and do what you want, even when it's scary. 😁

Hey @Rachael Johnson , as a fellow ADHDer and ND coach, I fully recognize those millions of ideas. Something that works well for me and often for my class ends of to start from the end. What are you hoping to achieve for your self and for your audience, where do you want them to end up? Then start reverse engineering it. If that is the outcome you want to get for yourself and where you want to take your audience, what do they need to know, understand, feel, experience first or start with to get closer to that or the version of themselves who can get closer to that? And what do you need to share with your audience to achieve your goals for that interaction and to help them achieve their goals that align with what you have to or want to offer? How does that land?

I like your speech, your story, vocal variety, functional gestures and facial expressions are strong. If you are looking for any improvement areas, I would suggest to reverse the movements though, due to the camera mirroring, they look backwards.

@Vernon Foster I have noticed it. It made a lot of difference.
First thought this morning — SKOOLx!
I sincerely cannot wait to celebrate… Whether it’s for me or for another friend in here… I’m on pins and needles waiting to do that! What I loved most about the experience: 1. I really did need to push myself and grow in order to complete and share, and these were in ways that help me to grow my business and as a person! So, perfect…! 2. As part of the process, I watched every single talk before placing my initial votes. So then I had gotten to know everybody and your talks! And then I already knew them well enough that it was interesting during the final talks to be there together on the next step of this journey! So now here I am, and I already got to experience everyone’s talks twice… And I connected with you all in here…! So I genuinely feel like I know you’re just enough that I can celebrate whoever wins! It’s beautiful!! 🙂🌻 Anyone else can’t wait to hear?

I feel like going through such an intense experience together created an unexpected but lovely bond amongst all of us.

@Éva Raposa that is definitely a takeaway for me as well. I don't think I ever took part in a competition before. Maybe a tiny low stake opportunity once last year but that's it as far as my ADHD brain can recall. But this experience taught me how, the safe environment, the feedback and the structure that comes with the healthy competition increase the learning and growth exponentially. So I am taking away that I would like to dare and put my name in the hat for more opportunities like this. Not because I am ready but because I want to grow.

What if the way we often interpret our struggles is not the only way to understand them? What if there is another way to read the evidence?

@Subhan Nair thanks a lot for watching and the kind words! It is still very much appreciated. This journey is so much more than the competition timeline. So any input is relevant and helpful. And I comment you for going through them all and giving feedback. Thanks for your commitment and care.

@Ben Sherry thanks a lot for the feedback. I love the encouragement together with the honest concerns. I was concerned about what is too much where myself. Thanks a lot for your guidance there. I really appreciate it

@Davie Elsie This was a speech I created from scratch for this competition. 3 days before the submission deadline, I was stuck with my copy and I was chasing my tail. I knew something was not sitting well with me and I needed to make some changes to it but I could not find what. I decided enough was enough, and realised I would regret if I get stuck in the perfectionism and miss the deadline while trying to reach a destination. I reminded myself wherever I ended up, I would know more about either what works and what doesn't work for me/my ausience, if only I stick with the path and give it a go. And funny enough as I took action, practiced while I did not have all the answers yet and iterated on the way (as I suggest in the speech already) I ended up finding the changes I was looking for.
