So I did a thing…
one of the fun things about being an artist is going to workshops and playing. Today a local art store near me hosted a Daniel Smith watercolor workshop where the brand ambassador talked about how they make their special paints using semi precious minerals into watercolors. Did you know they have 17 years worth of minerals and tubes in storage. Crazy! We got to play with a few mineral paints and their stick. The stick is the same as the tubes and pans. Apparently the stick is cheaper and does well for those who travel especially on air planes. Have you painted with Daniel Smiths paints?

🍂🎃 Getting ready for FALL! 🎃🍂 Let’s kick things off with a little fall watercolor fun — and get you excited for our FALL SUMMIT! More details coming VERY soon! 👀🎨 Tired of your watercolors turning out flat, dry, or muddy? In this video, I’m sharing a simple wet-into-wet trick using cozy fall gourds to create rich, dimensional color and beautiful controlled bleeds. If you struggle with water control or getting those vibrant values to pop, this is a fun little technique to try — and a great way to get your brushes warmed up for FALL! 🍁 More Fall Summit info coming soon! 🎃🍂 Kellie

Playful Mindfulness using watercolors!
Hey guys just thought I would share something Kellie and I did a few weeks back that would be FUN to try. Just to get you to keep painting while we get the Autumn Escape Fall Summit set up. Playful Mindfulness Using Creativity is something I was doing on instagram live and now doing them in-person at a local library as my contribution to the community. I wanted to create something that was easily accessible to anyone and tools and supplies didn't have to be the top of the line. You can get them from the local dollar store in your neighbourhood. Using theme prompts we get to explore and express our inner emotions (like you would a diary) using colors and lines. It is still an experimential process and it gets me to stretch my creativity muscle even more. Grab your supplies including a hair dryer and let's create something fun! https://www.youtube.com/live/hS0BC9le7So?si=ghAOXzy_UNiWK8iR

Need your help... what would inspire you to paint?
Before we launch the Fall summit 2026 we would love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to paint. Below is a poll you can participate or add some ideas below. We want to create something you would be inspired to paint or maybe there's a specific watercolor technique you would love to learn or master?

@Anjuli Hurt good point! we will definitely consider that moving forward. Our focus here has been on beginner level lessons. Has there been any images from the past summits here that caught your eye?
