Can your target client realistically afford a higher price point? If you’re in e-commerce, a few key things to consider: - How big is the business you’re building the site for?A small startup won’t have the same budget as an established mid-sized brand. Tailor your pricing accordingly. - How many clients can you potentially bring them?If your site redesign or funnel can help them convert 100+ new customers a month, that has a huge impact on perceived value. - What are their profit margins?This is crucial when calculating ROI. For example, you can say something like:"I can bring you X additional customers per month, and based on your profit per sale, you'll see a full ROI in just one month."That makes your proposal not just a cost—but a clear investment. - Where is the business located?Are they a multinational corporation, or a local small business? For MNCs, budget is rarely an issue if the offer delivers results. If it’s a local business, check industry benchmarks or use tools like ChatGPT to estimate their financial capabilities based on revenue averages in that region. If I were a small beverage company based in Dubai, for example (only because I live here), my max budget for a new website might be around $1000–$1,200, unless you’re offering something very performance-driven like SEO, lead gen funnels, or conversion rate optimization. But if I were a mid-size or premium brand with monthly revenue in the 5- or 6-figure range, I’d be open to investing $4,500–$5,000+ for a full package that directly impacts growth. Pricing should be tied to value and expected returns, not just deliverables. The more ROI you can demonstrate, the easier it is to charge premium rates.
