How the 42 Days to Peace and Prosperity helped me process and begin healing my past trauma.
Mental or psychological trauma arises from events that overwhelm a person’s ability to cope, creating lasting, disturbing memories and emotions. No one is completely immune to the consequences of trauma. We all have our history. We all tried the best we knew how, and still got bit at some time in our lives. But it doesn't take a genius to realize, we cannot physically LIVE in the past! So how is it that our history becomes our present experience? The thing about trauma is, it alters the brain's reaction to stress, causing people to feel unsafe even in safe situations. So right now, you may be in your bed, completely safe, but inside, you are shredding yourself to pieces, feeling all the past hurt, tearing your confidence to pieces because your nerves tell you otherwise. So much of my life I spent time in bed ruminating for days, doing absolutely nothing because my mindset was purely in the past, or future. Never in the now. That was the key. The now. The never ending moment right here. It never leaves, and is the only moment we have. Within this eternal moment, there exists the power. If I can somehow access this very moment, with a fresh idea, a new thought, a new idea, and brand new experience, THAT is the power. When you can tap into the now, live in that moment, and chose the best option in the now, you find you cannot entertain the past or present. You get lost in the moment, and begin to free yourself from the prison of thought. I am not my past, I am not my future. I am the now, and I am to be celebrated for the beauty too rich for words to describe. Integrate love now. Only look to the future with love, your past with compassion, and your present as a devine gift of plenty. Use your power, stay connected, engage in the moment fully. Show me how it's done!!!

Just a small win!
Officially one week, 7 days smoke free! The cravings are there it isn’t getting any easier! Always trying to keep my mind occupied and staying busy at all cost! I have smoked since I was about 11, I will succeed but in this moment I am feeling weak!

One thing that helped me was when it got difficult, I'd remind myself, "this is a part of the process. If I stick to the process, it will get easier." Keep yourself occupied and moving. You'll start noticing amazing benefits and see how you're capable of so much! You got this!
Fear
How do you get over a fear you have no idea why your afraid of? I've always been afraid of deep water as early as I can remember. Even in a swimming pool if I go near the deep end I get wicked anxiety yet no idea why.

@Marissa Fritsch it's a weird, disconnected feeling when your feet can no longer feel the bottom! 🌊😬It's disorienting, and then I notice my body starts feeling tense up from nervous energy. In a safe environment, I like to try pushing myself a little bit and get comfortable just on the edge of a deeper area of water. The longer I test out the area, I can gradually become more comfortable. It's a healthy fear that keeps you alive, and you can see that in a safe controlled environment, it's not so scary. The ocean on the other hand requires lots of training, equipment, support and communication. I think we all have fears based on primal instinct that kept us safe, and now we find them trivial and even funny at times. Our goal is to look as those obstacles as stepping stones. Beautiful opportunities are hidden behind limitation. We can test those boundaries, and often times find we come out the other side completely unscathed.

@Darla Klein That's completely true! It is a profound truth that requires us to heighten our awareness, listen to our body, and slowly process fear in a way that feels safe to the nervous system. Little by little, may we grow in our understanding, break our past from our present, and compose a beautiful story of ourselves, for ourselves.
No complaining for 24 hours.
Too often we default to our old habits and ways. For the next 24 hours I am committed to not complaining about anything. If you catch yourself, then correct yourself. Your life is so worth it. Who is with me today?
No complaining for 24 hours.
