Stop Falling for "Hype"
Let’s cut through the noise for a second 👇 If you’re choosing an agency because of flashy cars, luxury trips, or people posting “$20k–$50k APV weeks”… You’re getting sold — not educated. That stuff is hype. It’s marketing. They’re not showing you: - What they spent on leads to hit that number - How many hours they actually worked - Their chargeback rate 60–90 days later - How many agents quit trying to keep up with that image Anyone can look successful for a week on Instagram.Very few are running a business that actually lasts. So what should you actually be looking for? If you want to survive in this business long-term, you need one of two paths: 1. Build referral partner relationshipsThis is the real game. - Realtors - Loan officers - Financial professionals People who already have trust with your ideal clients. That’s how you create: - Consistent income - Higher quality clients - Lower chargebacks - A business that doesn’t rely on constantly buying leads OR 2. Go somewhere to learn — even if the comp is lower If you don’t have relationships yet, your focus should be skill-building, not chasing big commissions. That’s why some agents start in places like DIG Agency where you can: - Work real leads without dumping thousands per week - Learn how to properly underwrite and place business - Actually develop sales skills the right way Yeah, the comp might be lower. But you’re learning without going broke or stacking chargebacks. Too many people try to skip this phase. They chase: - High comp - Cheap/high-volume leads - Fast money …and end up burned out, in debt, or out of the industry in a few months. This business isn’t about who can look the richest the fastest. It’s about who can still be here in 3–5 years with: - A solid book of business - Real relationships - And income that actually sticks Don’t fall for the highlight reel. Build something real.
