What is your Skool plan?
From the age of 30-44… I tried 26 different side hustles. Most of them I quit on. But some of them were too complicated. Skool is the simplest business model I’ve ever tried. And you can literally start today. I’m curious to know if you plan on using a Skool community for your online business. Started my Meaningful Relationships community about 5 weeks ago. I’m up to 18 members. 13 came from warm invites to people I know IRL, mostly through DM’s in Facebook messenger. At some point I need to count how many invites I sent out, maybe 40-50…? 4 from Skool conversations or discovery. One from a DM invite to a highly compatible person on LinkedIn (not in my network and no connections in common). I was able to do that by using the one month free trial for LinkedIn Pro. I’m trying out looking at my LinkedIn Contacts. If they are a suitable person to invite, I invite them to my group and/or I look at their contacts and send a message (click the connect button and add a message to your request to connect) to people whose profile seems like the kind of person I am wanting in my group, I also mention our mutual connections. I’m not sure how effective it will be, so far not a lot of responses with that method, but it is pretty easy to do and it’s free. I have also rejected about 4 join requests from likely spammers. I’ve only done one short YouTube. My plan is to start doing one per week. 1. My strategy has been to first fill my group with people who are highly compatible, create good culture, good connections, and a sense of combined purpose. And also encouraging people whenever possible to invite people they know. So far people aren’t doing that yet, but I think they will as they settle in and see that they like the group, this will get easier if I upgrade to the Skool pro plan, because I can promote using an affiliate link, but with no paying subscribers, it doesn’t make sense yet. 2. Later (or on the way) I’ll work to magnetize a larger community of people, this will make more and more sense as I get more clear on my offers and build out my course material and create the demand for my coaching/teaching. 2. My goal is that the long-term success of the group (as it gets bigger) and profitable will be that it brings personal, financial, and reputational benefit to the founding members and value, learning and connection to the community as a whole.
I built what you asked for
We just hit 1,000 members in PYOB. 🥳 In just under five months. YouTube, ads, and Skool SEO. No tricks. I didn't guess at what to build next. I asked you. A few weeks ago I posted a poll. I asked what was really blocking you. 41 votes. 36 comments. The number one answer was I get overwhelmed and don't know what step to take first. So I did exactly what I teach you to do. Build the audience. Ask them what they want. Get validation. Then make the product and make the offer. This is that offer. It's a premium tier inside PYOB. $8/month or $90/year. Founding member price. It will not stay here. Here's what you'll unlock immediately inside the classroom: - The Mindset Reset Quiz. Three minutes to find out exactly what's blocking you. - The 60-Minute Skool Launch GPT. Your entire Skool setup, start to finish, in under an hour. It won't let you overthink. It won't let you skip steps. - The About Page Audit GPT. Paste your page in and get a rewrite that actually converts. - Skool Builder Templates. Free members wait until Level 3 for these. You get them today. - The Mindset Skool Formula Workshop. Two hours. How I built Mindset Skool from zero. If you're already in Mindset Skool, stay there. You already have all of this. This is for everyone else who's ready to stop stalling and start building. 100 founding member spots at $8. After that the price goes up. Go to the plans page and grab your spot. 👉 https://www.skool.com/pyob/plans Thank you for being here. Genuinely. 1,000 of you showed up in five months and that means everything. Now let's build something. Are you in? P.S. I'll be adding more to this tier soon and your founding rate is locked in. Next on deck is a Claude for Skoolers course 🤫

Congratulations! Well deserved Brian. You work hard and provide honest and valuable guidance and a space where we can grow along with you and from each other’s experience.
You’re not stuck because you picked the wrong business idea
You’re stuck because you won’t pick one. I just recorded a video breaking this down after a comment in here that I see all the time. Too many ideas… too much noise… no decision. And then what happens? Nothing. You sit there thinking, researching and watching other people… Convincing yourself you’re “working on it.” You’re not. You’re AVOIDING the only thing that matters. Choosing and moving. You’re not marrying the business. You’re dating it. Pick ONE. Commit. Go. Every idea you have could work. None of them will if you keep circling. I also break down exactly what I’d do if I had to start over… step by step… working a 9–5… first client in 90 days. If you want it… Comment “SKOOL” and I’ll DM you the video + the 12-step plan. Or you can stay stuck, keep thinking and keep watching everyone else move. That's a choice too. Which one are you going to make? Comment "SKOOL" 👇

@Brian O'Neill I like pulling up perplexity when I'm trying to figure something out that I know will be on a website(s). I know the other ones have caught up on this aspect as well, but perplexity seems pretty suited for internet searching, summarizing, and explaining.

@Michelle Fuentes i’d rather ask a dummy question than not know 🤔What’s a SOAP?
How To Get Your First Paid Skool Member
Most Skool community owners try to create an offer before they know what their members actually want. So they build courses, challenges, and programs… …and nobody buys. After running Mindset Skool over a year and collecting hundreds of responses from members, I realized something simple: You only need three posts to figure out your entire offer. In this video I show you: • The three posts every Skool community should have • How these posts generate hundreds of responses from members • How to use those responses to build offers people actually want • The AI prompt that recreates this framework for your niche These posts helped me build my first course, refine my messaging, and create offers directly from my community’s responses. If you run a Skool community and you're struggling to monetize it, start here.

As always, super clear and actionable message. Wouldn’t there be a problem of getting lots of people into a community without much to offer? Then most people would probably just ghost the group right? So it seems that to some degree you need to have good stuff put together from the start and then work through the process you’re talking about. I’m just thinking about how this works... I’m sure I’m missing something though.

@Brian O'Neill "The community is the product, not the classroom." Thank you, that wording nailed it, and is consistent with what I've seen you teach!
