Three Events to Close Out April
Hi all! There are three events happening in the next two weeks, and I want to make sure you have all the information in one post! 1. How We Got Here & How We Get Free: MRC Live Guided Discussion Tuesday 4/21 at 6 pm EDT/5 pm CDT. Tomorrow, all Platinum and VIP members are invited to attend my live guided discussion for my mini-reflective course. You already have access to the pre-recorded lesson and the reflective workbook. The live guided discussion is a chance for us to deepen your learning. Also, if you recently joined the community at the Standard level, check your messages! You have 7 days of free access to the class, and you can join tomorrow. Everyone else can upgrade their membership to Platinum ($10 per course) or VIP ($100 for all 12 courses and save $20). 2. Free Workshop on Moral Injury: Wednesday 4/22 at 6 pm EDT/5 pm CDT. From 2020-2022, I worked with two colleagues to survey nearly 6,000 educators and conduct individual interviews and focus groups with another 100 teachers. What started as a desire to learn about how teachers were experiencing the pandemic led to an investigation into how teaching during the pandemic impacted their mental health. Though we studied burnout, we realized it was an inadequate description of what teachers were experiencing. We learned that severe exhaustion, lack of engagement, demotivation, and demoralization were symptoms of Moral Injury. Our latest article, The Intensification of Moral Injury in Teachers During the Pandemic, was published in a special issue on Teachers’ Work in Contentious Times, and I’m hosting a free webinar to discuss moral injury in teachers. All members of the community are welcome to attend. Just come to Skool and click on the link in the calendar (https://www.skool.com/live/np59s3kRHD4). 3. Free Guided Discussion on Agency in Teachers and Children: Wednesday, 4/29 at 6 pm EDT/5 pm CDT. Each month, I host a free guided discussion to review the monthly topic and reflective prompts. This month, we're talking about Agency in Teachers and Children. All members of the community are welcome to attend. Just come to Skool and click on the link in the calendar (https://www.skool.com/live/WYgDrkv9JMM)

Free Workshop on Moral Injury
Hello Community! Last month I postponed the Mini-Reflective Live Guided Discussion on Moral Injury and decided to offer it as a free workshop for all community members. An article I co-authored on moral injury in teachers during the pandemic was published yesterday, so I decided to offer a free workshop to share the research findings. You can read the article here: https://ices.library.ubc.ca/index.php/workplace/article/view/187167 The free workshop is on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6 pm EDT. Community members can click Calendar to find a link to join the call. I hope to see you there!
