How to fix histamine intolerance and allergies!
So many people think histamine issues are just about hives or allergies…But if you've ever experienced unexplained skin rashes, constant bloating, random headaches, or even insomnia that seems to come out of nowhere... You might actually have histamine intolerance. And here's what's wild... Most cases of histamine intolerance aren't actually about histamine at all. The real culprit seems to lie in specific deficiencies that impair your ability to BREAK DOWN histamine. You see, your body has an enzyme called diamine oxidase (DAO) that's responsible for this. When you don't have enough DAO, histamine builds up in your system... And that's when all hell breaks loose. Skin issues like eczema and hives… GI problems - gas, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain... Respiratory symptoms like a runny nose or congestion... Headaches and migraines… Heart palpitations… Anxiety and brain fog… Painful periods for women. As you can see, the symptoms are incredibly broad! Now, DAO is a copper-dependent enzyme. It appears that without adequate copper, your body may be unable to produce sufficient DAO to break down histamine properly (PMID: 38674909). However, copper deficiency isn't the only piece of this puzzle... Your gut might play a bigger role than once thought and may be worsened by histamine-producing bacteria, molds, or yeasts (PMID: 35565742). When you have bacterial overgrowth like SIBO, candida overgrowth, or mold exposure... These microbes can trigger immune responses - including mast cell activation - that may increase histamine levels. This is why people with gut issues often struggle with foods they used to tolerate just fine. So, it's not the food itself - rather, it's the broken gut producing histamine or the lack of DAO to break it down.

Thank you for this information, Dr Serge! Can you muscle test for histamine intolerance and SIBO?
Keto helps brain function?
Here's another reason to love low-carb, ketogenic-style diets: they might help protect the brain from aging. New research shows that ketone bodies—specifically beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB)—activate cellular pathways that reduce inflammation, improve mitochondrial efficiency, and even enhance DNA repair in brain cells. In animal models, these effects translated to preserved cognitive function and less neurodegeneration with age. It makes sense from an evolutionary perspective: during fasting or carb restriction, the body switches to ketones as a more efficient fuel, especially for the brain. This "metabolic switch" seems to activate longevity pathways that may be dormant on a standard Western diet. While a strict keto diet isn't right for everyone, incorporating strategic fasting or carb cycling could offer some of these benefits without going full keto.

Thank you. If you have never fasted before would it be best to start with intermittent fasting or just jump right in to 3 or more days?

Sounds good. Thank you!
Red meat found not guilty!
A new analysis from NHANES confirms that usual intakes of animal proteins were not associated with increased risk of all-cause, cardiovascular, or cancer mortality—and in fact, red meat was linked to lower cancer mortality! Yes, more evidence supports the fact that beef is actually anti-cancer 😎 The authors also found no link between IGF-1 levels and disease risk, contradicting earlier theories that red meat increases cancer via IGF-1. This reinforces what I've always argued: red meat is not only safe, but also beneficial when consumed as part of a nutrient-dense, whole-foods diet. When you start our program, you need extra protein to facilitate and support detox and healing. On a daily basis, you need to consume the equivalent of your weight in grams. If you weigh 150lbs, you need to consume 150g of protein every day.
