Collision
A boom A bang Not the big bang theory A clashing of one's self I ran into a version of her Not the warrior slaying giants or the soldier detonating bombs more like the banner after the battle standing alone on a field of the fallen where voices call from the otherside of surpressed stresses forgotten failures memories of miseries and we wrestled with identity collided with her looked her in the eyes Wept with her Today we are not poetically or politically correct We are just standing like the banner on the battlefield Simply saying We are still here. @ Copyright, Tolbert, M D., All rights reserved

The peace I chose
The Peace I Chose Peace didn’t come and find my door, I had to choose it, nothing more. I had to walk away from noise, from broken love and borrowed voice. I had to let what hurt me fade, release the deals I never made. And in that letting, slow and deep, I found the peace I had to keep. Not given, not from someone else— but built inside my truest self.

Where Our Voices Turn Update
I wanted to give everyone a quick update on Where Our Voices Turn. With everything that has happened over the past couple of weeks—including losing my laptops unexpectedly—I fell behind on the formatting and final production of the book. I appreciate everyone's patience more than you know. The good news is that I'm back up and running with a new laptop, and I'm working through the manuscript every day. My goal is to have Where Our Voices Turn completed and published next week. Thank you to each of you for your understanding, encouragement, and belief in this project. I refuse to rush something that represents your voices. Every poem deserves the care and attention it was written with. We're almost there. Thank you for staying on this journey with me. ❤️📖

Amen because I am waiting
Don’t Test Fate
We all have choices in our lives Some made are wrong, some made are right Wrong choices are what’s testing fate Wrong choices are mistakes you make Mistakes were made - it’s not too late To learn your lesson, make a change Change is tough - think of what you done Life’s lessons aren’t there to be fun Some make mistakes repeatedly; Time to wake up, you need to see The damage caused, destruction made Tomorrow brings a brand new day With the right choice, think how you’ll feel Cards laid out show a better deal You can move forward, head held high At least this time you’ll know you tried Karen L Hamilton

Today we explore Viking Poetry
⚔️ Poetry Style Spotlight: Viking Poetry ⚔️ This week's challenge takes us to the age of longships, roaring seas, and fearless warriors. Viking poetry is built on honor, courage, adventure, loyalty, and the power of storytelling. These poems celebrate epic journeys, legendary battles, fierce storms, family, sacrifice, and the names that refuse to be forgotten. You don't have to write about war. Write about facing your own storm, protecting someone you love, or the adventure that changed your life. Make it bold. Make it unforgettable. 🛡️ Challenge: Write a poem inspired by the Viking spirit. Let your words sail across the sea like a dragon ship and leave behind a saga worth remembering. Skål, poets! We can't wait to read what you create. https://youtube.com/shorts/aCHuqQILQIE?is=c8w-Mn1W8iySuapy

@Jason Strickland LOST BATTLES I was a warrior at a young age; I knew how to hit the battlefield Never letting my guard down. When I crossed paths with my prince, I was allowed to let the weight of war fall to the wayside. No longer did I have to fight my way through life and struggle. Until the last fight.... I knew I would stick it out with you until the very end, always prepared for the win. Like the monitoring of a stuttering clock, counting down what we cannot keep. While the silence of night sets in, no wind blowing just the hums of our voices full of laughter and life's wins. I would hold you, tearing at the edges of dark, trying to drag you back from sleep. Did I whisper or did I scream? Did I cry or did I hold it tight? There was not much light. How did I know if I did things right? My hands are shaking, looking you in your eyes. I love you enough to fight the night. I love you enough to say I did not win this fight. Some battles you just cannot win I love you so much till I see you again.
