Day 1 – Looking for My First Business Acquisition
Today I took another step toward my goal of building asset-based income. I spent some time looking at small businesses for sale in my area and found two opportunities that caught my attention: 1. A dryer vent cleaning business for $2,500 that includes equipment, website, Google Business Profile, phone number, branding, and some existing leads. 2. A junk removal business for $20,000 that includes a 7x14 trailer, equipment, website, 40 five-star reviews, and claims to currently generate around $800–$1,200 per week. Instead of just looking at the asking price, I started learning how to evaluate the actual business: revenue, profit, expenses, equipment value, customer acquisition, Google reviews, lead flow, and how long it would take to recover my investment. My biggest takeaway today is that I should not rush to buy anything just because it looks like a good opportunity. I need to verify the numbers first and understand exactly what I am buying. My next step is to talk with the sellers, ask for proof of the numbers, and continue comparing opportunities until I find one that makes financial sense. Goal: Buy my first profitable small business and grow it into another source of income.

About me
👋 Hi everyone, my name is Wisdom. I’m 25 years old and currently living in Utah. I work in IT/technical support and I’m also continuing my education in technology and cybersecurity. One of my biggest goals right now is to build income outside of just working a regular job. I want to learn how to identify good small businesses, acquire the right one, build systems around it, and eventually have businesses that can operate without me having to do everything myself. I’ve already started putting what I’m learning into practice. Today I looked into a dryer vent cleaning business for sale for $2,500 and a junk removal business for $20,000. I’m learning to look beyond the asking price and understand the revenue, expenses, lead flow, assets, reviews, and actual profitability before making a decision. I’m excited to learn from Dejon and everyone here, share my progress, and hopefully make my first acquisition. 💪🏾

Welcome to the group! Lets get you your first deal before the end of the year!
What type of business are you looking to acquire?
For me personally, anything service based. Service based tends to be reoccuring, can be systemitized easily, and it’s generally services that are in NEED (think of plumbing, electrically, HVAC, etc). What type of business are you most interested in?
