Leveling up celebration!
A big congratulations to our members who have been levelling up recently! Congratulations to: - Jan Appleton – Level 4 - Jane Harbison – Level 4 - Glenna James – Level 2 - Judy Lange – Level 2 I dont usually put a lot of emphasis on the leaderboards because life isnt a competition. But every level represents something valuable - asking questions, sharing your projects, helping others, and being an active part of Sewing Boss. This community grows because of members who jump in, encourage each other, and keep learning together. Whether you've just joined or you're working your way through the levels, every contribution makes a difference. Keep the conversations going, share what you're making, ask for help when you need it, and celebrate each other's wins. Before you know it, you'll be seeing your own name in one of these posts! Well done, everyone, and thank you for making this such a supportive place to sew and learn together.

July theme announcement
Drumroll please...... This month we're diving into CASUAL JACKETS. Whether you're making a classic denim jacket, a cosy shacket, a bomber, chore jacket, utility jacket, anorak, or your own take on an everyday layer, this is your chance to build new skills while creating something you'll actually wear. Over the next few weeks we'll work through the project together using the 6-part framework, breaking the process into manageable stages so you can make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. No matter where you're starting from, jump in, share your plans, and don't be afraid to ask questions. The whole point of Sewing Boss Learning Lab is to learn from each other and raise the standard of our sewing together. Let's make July the month everyone adds an incredible jacket to their handmade wardrobe! Image can be found here

As we come to the end of June, its time to decide on our project for next month. Collars can be fiddly, so how about we choose between a collared shirt, or a casual jacket. Tick one below

Hello @Karen Rigby welcome!! Im thinking its going to be a close one this month! We're having a pretty mild winter in Brisbane so far - I dont even think its gone below 10° yet ☺️

As we reach the end of our first themed month and the first full run through the framework, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What was your biggest win this month? What challenged you the most? What part of the framework helped you the most? What could be improved for next month? Is there anything you'd like to see included in future themed months? Every bit of feedback helps me make Sewing Boss even better. Thanks for being part of this first run. Answer below, or DM me 😊

@Stephanie Kara exactly. When I get to it I'll be elaborating on each of the lessons and adding the posts to the relevant topics.

And so our tshirt is complete! In this demo I show you how to sew - a neck band - a neck bind - the hem and what to do with the overlocking tail - and the importance of top stitching and pressing The camera angles are a little different as I was trying the webcam, but I am working on having two cameras so you can see more. I didn't realise the audio was funny while the machine was in use, so thats why my voice cuts out a few times. What can I say, this is a work in progress and I appreciate you all. I do disappear off camera to use the overlocker towards the end, but I promise I do come back 😆
