What Make Is Your Machine? 🧶
Curious what everyone's knitting on! Drop a comment and let me know: 🔴 Brother ⚪ Silver Reed / Knitmaster / Singer / Studio 🟢 Toyota 🔵 Passap 🟡 A mix of makes ⚫ Still saving/deciding on my first machine! No wrong answers — I've knitted on a fair few over 30 years and they all have their quirks. Just want to get a feel for what's in the MKH community so I can make sure the tips and troubleshooting land right for you. Comment below! 👇

If your machine could talk, what would it say about you?
Would it roast you for walking away mid-row for 'just five minutes' and coming back an hour later? Would it thank you for finally cleaning the needle bed? Would it file a complaint about the acrylic you keep forcing through it when you know wool is its love language? Be honest — your machine has opinions. Give your machine a voice — what's the one thing it would say to you right now, good or bad?

Three months ago today, MkH opened its doors.
I still remember not really knowing what to expect — whether anyone would come, whether the idea of a proper pathway for machine knitters, from complete beginner to confident maker, would actually mean something to people beyond me. Turns out it did. In three months I've watched people knit their first rows on a machine they'd been scared of for years. I've watched people come back to a craft they'd put down and forgotten how much they loved. I've had conversations with members about problems I've spent decades solving, and had the genuine pleasure of watching that knowledge actually land and help someone. It hasn't all been smooth — building something like this on your own means every module, every video, every resource is built in the gaps of everything else, and there have been plenty of days I've wondered if it's making a difference. But then someone shares a finished piece they never thought they'd be able to make, and I remember exactly why I'm doing this. We've grown and changed a lot in three months, and there's a lot more coming. But today isn't about what's next — it's just a thank you. To everyone who's shown up, shared their wins and their stuck moments, and trusted me to help them along the way. This is only the beginning. 🧶

Big things ahead 😊
A big update — and a thank you 🧶
I want to share something important with you today. MkH has officially moved to a paid community. This has been a big step for me, and it means I can keep building the resources, the support, and the space that this community deserves — properly and sustainably, for the long term. But before anything else, I want you to know exactly where you stand. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄, 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. You keep your free membership for life. No catch, no expiry date — that was the promise I made when you joined, and I'm keeping it. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼. On 3rd August, Premium pricing is increasing to $12/month for new members — but because you joined as one of our founding members, you'll stay at $9/month for life. That rate is yours for as long as you're here. None of this is possible without you. You were here at the very start, when this was just an idea and a lot of hope. You showed up, you knitted, you asked questions, you cheered each other on — and you helped shape MkH into what it's becoming. That means more to me than I can properly put into words. Thank you for being founding members. Thank you for trusting me with your machines, your projects, and your time. I'm so excited for the next chapter of MkH, and I can't wait to keep building it with you. 🧶

Woohoo!!! Awesome move @Jan Appleton
🎉 New Level Rewards are here — and two of you are SO close!
I'm pleased to let you know that two more rewards have been added to the Levels - real rewards for levelling up inside the Machine Knitting Hub. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 💫 It's not about a badge for the sake of it — it's a record of your progress from "machine gathering dust" to actually making things. 💫 Every level is proof you're showing up, engaging, and moving forward — even on the days it doesn't feel like it. 💫 This community is for beginners 𝘢𝘯𝘥 the beautifully stuck — levelling up is how we celebrate every single step of that journey, not just the finished projects. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 🏅 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟱 — 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱 A beautifully designed card to track your makes — yarn, tension, machine settings, notes for next time. The kind of thing you'll wish you'd had from day one. ⭐ 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟲 — 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵'𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 (𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺) The first two of you to hit Level 6 get a full month of Premium, on me. And here's the exciting bit — 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟱, right on the doorstep of that Level 6 reward. No pressure... but no pressure at all 👀 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘂𝗽 Keep showing up, keep posting, keep engaging with others' projects Ask questions — every question helps someone else who's too nervous to ask Share your makes, wins, and even your "why won't this work" moments — they all count I built this community to be a place where progress gets noticed, not just perfection. So however you're moving forward today — celebrate it. Jan x
