Then I started using Claude Code. What surprised me wasn't that it could write code. It was how much time it saved on the work that usually slows developers down. For example: • Explaining an unfamiliar codebase in minutes. • Finding bugs that would've taken hours to track down. • Refactoring messy code without breaking functionality. • Building integrations and automations much faster. • Writing documentation that people can actually understand. But here's what most people get wrong... AI doesn't replace developers. It replaces repetitive work. The developer who knows how to work with AI becomes significantly more productive than the one who ignores it. That's the real advantage. I've been experimenting with Claude Code to build automations, improve workflows, and speed up development, and every week I discover new ways it can eliminate hours of manual work. Claude Code isn't replacing software engineering. It's exposing who has strong engineering practices and who relies on AI to guess. The developers getting the biggest results aren't the ones asking better prompts. They're the ones building better systems around Claude.
