Why is it so hard for me to get a handle on social media?
I can talk about business all day. But when it's time to post on social media? I'm going to overthink every word. Will anybody care? Have I already talked about this? Is it even worth posting? And before I know it, I've spent more time THINKING about posting than it would've taken to make the actual post. Raise your hand if that's you. I'll wait. 😂 Here's something I've been paying more attention to. We are spending WAY too much time looking for content ideas. 📌 Saving Pinterest posts. Taking screenshots. Watching what everybody else is doing. Meanwhile, we're overlooking the things we're ALREADY doing. Think about your average workday. You're answering questions. Solving problems. Making decisions. Explaining things to people. And you do it WITHOUT a script. You don't need a catchy opening line. You know the answers because you've been doing this work for YEARS. But somehow, we treat social media like we need a whole new set of things to talk about. And that's simply not true. People want to know what WE know. So how about we start paying more attention to the conversations we're already having? 💡 Here are 6 places to find your next content idea. 1. The questions people keep asking you. 2. The advice you give without even thinking. 3. The mistakes you see people making. 4. Something you've already posted that did well. 5. Something you learned this week. We're lifelong learners, after all. 6. Something you genuinely believe about your work. We've been doing this a LONG time as Gen X businesswomen. We've built careers we're proud of. We've learned things the hard way. We've solved problems other people are still trying to figure out. And people WANT to learn from us. They want to know what we know. But then we see influencers pulling out cameras, making these perfectly planned videos, and we start thinking that's what we're supposed to do. Ma'am. We've earned the right to teach what we know and let that be that. 👏🏽 Now, I know social media is a big adjustment.

One I've had is “Where can I get The Slothingtons?” 🦥❤️ It sounds like such a simple question, but I'm learning that if someone has to ask me that, I need to make the next step much clearer in my posts! 😂

@Latashia Crenshaw That's a good idea, Latashia! ❤️ I definitely need to make the “where to get them” part impossible to miss. 😂🦥 I'm trying to improve what I already have rather than add more platforms, so a pinned post could work really well.

THEY COMMENTED. NOW WHAT? 👀
🔥 You're posting about your products, services, or membership. You're sharing your offers and telling people how much they cost. But what happens when someone actually responds? 🤔 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵𝘆! Sometimes a potential customer starts with a simple comment or DM. And what you say next matters! 👀 Here are 3 ways to handle those conversations. 🟣 1. "𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗲!" ❌ Don't just say "Thanks!" and disappear. ✅ Ask a question! 💬 "I'm glad this helped! Which part stood out to you?" Let them answer. If your offer can help, explain how and share the link. --- 🟣 2. "𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 [𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺]." ❌ Don't immediately send a sales pitch. ✅ Ask what they're struggling with. 💬 "Is your biggest challenge [problem A] or [problem B]?" If they need more help, ask: 💬 "I have something that might help. Want me to send you the details?" Only move to DMs if they say yes! --- 🟣 3. "𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝟭:𝟭 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽?" ❌ Don't make them work to find your prices or details. ✅ Give a simple, clear answer. 💬 "Yes! I help [type of customer] with [problem]. My sessions are [$price] and include [benefit]. What are you hoping to work on?" That's it! No long sales speech needed. 🤭 --- 🤔 𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘅 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂? 🙌 People ask questions. Great! Your content is getting attention. Keep your answers clear. 😐 People ask but don't buy. Check whether your offer, price, and value are easy to understand. 🥴 Nobody asks about your offer. Your content may not be explaining what you sell or who it's for. And remember: Don't lower your prices just because you're not making sales. You may need clearer messaging instead. --- 💬 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡! Which one sounds like you? 🙌 People ask me questions. 😐 People show interest but don't buy. 🥴 Nobody asks about my offers. 👇 Drop your emoji in the comments! BONUS CHALLENGE: Share what you sell, the price, and who it's for. Let's practice making our offers easy to understand! 💕

🙌 People ask me questions! I've recently had some lovely conversations with people interested in my children's colouring book series, The Slothingtons. 🦥❤️ I create printable colouring books and free mini books for children and families, including our Christmas adventures. 🎄🎨 Our paid Christmas colouring book is $5 on Payhip, and we also have books available on Amazon. I'm learning to focus more on building genuine connections and explaining the value of our books rather than just sharing links. Thanks for these helpful tips! ❤️

@Latashia Crenshaw That's a really good question, Latashia! ❤️ The main value behind The Slothingtons is giving children and families something fun, creative and screen-free to enjoy together. 🦥🎨 I wanted to create more than just colouring pages, so I developed a little family of sloths with their own personalities, funny moments and adventures. For parents and grandparents, the books offer an affordable activity that can keep children entertained while encouraging creativity and imagination. Our Christmas books also introduce children to different places and Christmas settings around the world. 🎄🌍 I think the main problem I'm helping solve is finding simple, enjoyable activities for children that don't involve another screen. I'm still learning how to communicate that value more clearly in my promotions, so I really appreciate you asking! ❤️
Sales Psychology Triggers Your Content Needs to Convert
Emotion: People buy because of how something makes them feel, and when they feel seen. Clarity: Confused people don't buy, they scroll. Let them know what you do and how your offer can help them. Direction: Give a clear call to action, tell them what to expect next. Which trigger do you feel could be stronger in your online content?

@Latashia Crenshaw It’s going really well, thank you 💕 I’m getting much clearer about keeping the message simple — fun, screen-free colouring activities for kids and families. I’m also learning not to try to say everything in one post 😂🦥🎨
