Live Q&A revised date/times
Quick update on the live session. A few people mentioned the timings didn’t quite work, so I’m going to move this to an afternoon (GMT) to make it easier for more people to join. I’ll drop a couple of new date/time options below - vote for what works best 👍🏾 If you’ve got anything you want to ask, please drop in the comments section below!

Live q&a ..
Hey guys it would be amazing to get to know you better. I’m going to run a live session nextweek. It’ll be a mix of Q&A and getting to know you better. If you’ve got questions around abstract work, ink, texture, or anything you’re stuck on, bring them along. I’ve put up a poll for dates - vote for what works best 👍🏾

@Ann Andrews No worries at all 👍🏾 Time zones can make it tricky, especially that far ahead. I’ll look to run more sessions at different times going forward so more people can join in. Glad you’re part of the group, and feel free to drop any work or questions in here anytime 👍🏾

Getting to know you
Let’s keep this simple. Drop something you’ve been working on recently - finished or not. Or even just say what kind of art you’re into 🫶🏽

@Leigh Andresen Nice - alcohol inks are a great place to start 👍🏾 They’ve got that natural movement which you’re already picking up on, and it translates really well into watercolour or acrylic ink.

@Irene Evangelista Hey! First off, it’s great that you came back to painting after a break - that already says a lot about your commitment to it. Working on something like a sea dragon sounds really exciting. With subjects like that, one thing that can really elevate the piece is pushing contrast. You’re doing the right thing by asking for honest opinions and just be ready to filter feedback and keep what actually helps you grow. Keep going 👍
New online courses
Guys, if you are keen to learn more techniques from me, what would they be, if I was to create another course, I’d love to know what you’d like to know more about!

@Ursula Tucker Yeah exactly 👍🏾 Layering makes a big difference with inks - building it up gradually and letting each layer do its own thing. A lot of it is just controlling how much you guide it vs letting it flow. You’ll start to get a feel for it the more you work with it 👍🏾
Day 6 of 7
Day 6 – Emotion Today’s focus is creating from a feeling. Pick a mood or emotion and let that guide your piece - not logic or overthinking. Think more about movement, colour, and energy rather than trying to control the outcome. Keep it loose. Show what you create today, whether you’ve been following from Day 1 or just starting now. Post your work below 👇

@Uresha Patel That’s a really honest read 👍🏾 And yeah, that “school art project” feeling usually just means it needs a bit more depth and variation. You don’t necessarily need to start again darker - you can still build that now with a few deeper tones and some contrast in certain areas. Layering will help a lot, especially if you let each layer add something slightly different. You’re definitely on the right track with it 👍🏾
