Forest! So many tree rats so little time! Sticks! Cuddles all the time!
🐾 Clingy or Aloof? 🐾
Every breed has its quirks… Some dogs stick to you like Velcro, while others are cool and independent. 👉 Is your dog’s breed generally clingy or aloof? Drop their breed in the comments below ⬇️ and I’ll tell you which way they usually lean! Let’s see who’s got the snuggle bugs and who’s got the free spirits 🐶✨

🐾 Understanding Your Dog’s Emotions 🐾
Did you know dogs have 7 (possibly 8!) emotional and motivational systems just like us? These systems shape how they interact with the world and with us every single day. ✨ Here’s a quick breakdown: - Fear – linked to survival and self-preservation - Panic – connected to attachment and loss - Rage – triggered by loss of territory or resources - Seeking – curiosity and investigating their world - Lust – reproduction drives - Care – nurturing towards dependants - Play – rough & tumble social learning - Pain (possible 8th) – physical suffering 💡 Why this matters: When we understand which system a dog is operating in, we can support them better. For example, a dog barking might not be “naughty” — they could be in panic mode because of separation, or in fear because of a loud noise. 👉 By tuning into these systems, we can meet our dogs where they are emotionally, strengthen our bond, and help them thrive. 🐶💬 Which of these emotional systems do you notice most in your own dog?

Same! Never would I ever do anything like that! With all the shelters around I just can’t understand why people do that! I’m thankful too! Every day I ask him how I got so lucky to get a Charlie! He’s a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix. Very cute very bouncy!

The feeling is mutual. Mommy’s lap is his happy place and I get to see the cutest snoot in the world!

@Jessica Spencer I’ve done it both ways. Right now, I’m a live in caregiver again so I’m not in my own home. I can’t stay over night either. But I can do food and bathroom runs
