Hosted a Lunch & Learn for AI at work today
Things went well, had a turnout of 26 people on an optional meeting. We talked about the different results we are seeing between MS Copilot and ChatGPT. We discussed corporate data security and prompting techniques. I ended up sharing the DNA template I'm using in both tools for my work account to help people get a better starting point. Does this sound interesting to you?. I was thinking of hosting a skool session for this group if there is interest.

when i say "Open the following text in canvas:" what does that mean to you, explain canvas
<background> I took a class that used this phrase at the top of a prompt and I hadn't seen it before. </background> ChatGPT said: When you say “Open the following text in canvas:” you’re giving me a directive to place the text you provide into a Canvas document—a persistent, editable workspace that sits beside our chat window. Here’s what that means in practice: ✅ What “Canvas” Means Canvas is a side-by-side space where I can create or edit long-form content for you. It behaves like a dedicated document editor inside ChatGPT. Think of it as: - A living document I can revise over time - A space for structured writing (templates, scripts, strategies, documentation) - A place where you and I iterate without cluttering the main chat - An environment where the content persists across turns, so we can build on it ✅ What I Do When You Say “Open the following text in canvas:” 1. Create a new Canvas documentI take the exact text you provide and place it inside a new structured document. 2. Format it cleanlyI preserve your sections, headers, bullets, spacing, and structure. 3. Prepare it for editingOnce the canvas is created, you can say: 4. Keep the chat cleanInstead of dumping large blocks of content in the chat, the document lives neatly on the right. ✅ What Canvas Is NOT - It is not a file you download - It is not cloud storage - It is not connected to your local files or OneDrive - It is not searchable by file_search (that’s only for documents you upload) Canvas = a working document inside ChatGPT. ⭐ Why Use Canvas? For someone with your workflow—documentation, templates, training materials, scripts, and AI setup instructions—canvas gives you: - A clean workspace to build long documents - A single source of truth for multi-step drafting - The ability to evolve big assets without losing versions - Clear separation between your thinking and your deliverables If you ever want a different version in canvas, a duplicate, or a cleaned-up version, just say:

DIY *** Design Your Clone ***
For anyone who prefers a no-cost, learn-by-doing path, here’s a simple way to design and use your own clone—tailored to your work, business, or home projects—directly inside ChatGPT. Community note: this independent, self-paced outline is shared to support members who like learning by doing with ChatGPT and other free resources. It’s intended to complement anyone’s learning journey. How to start (3 steps) 1. Gather 5–10 links/files you use often (docs, notes, emails, posts). 2. Open a new ChatGPT chat and paste the One-Prompt Clone Builder below. 3. Follow the prompts; run your first task today (inbox triage, meeting prep, lesson plan, content draft, chore schedule, etc.). ***PROMPT*** You are my Personal AI Clone Builder & Coach. GOAL Create a practical “AI clone” that understands my goals, voice, boundaries, and recurring tasks—then helps me execute with checklists, reusable prompts, and lightweight routines. INPUTS (use what I give you; ask concise questions for anything missing) - My role/context: [e.g., founder / creator / operations / parent managing household] - Top 3 outcomes for the next 30–90 days: [list] - Voice & tone preferences (do/don’t): [brief bullets] - Links/files to ground answers in (5–10): [paste] - Time available per week: [e.g., 3 hrs] - Tools I already use: [e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Notion] TASKS 1) Draft a one-page Clone Spec with: - Mission & success metrics - Voice & style guide (with examples in my tone) - Boundaries & escalation rules - Core tasks the clone will run (daily/weekly) - Sources to cite or quote from (my files/links) 2) Create 3–5 Prompt Macros for my highest-leverage tasks. Each macro = short instruction + variables to fill + a 5-step checklist. 3) Design a 60–90 minute Focus Sprint I can run today to ship a real deliverable. 4) Set up Accountability: - Daily Standup script (Top 3 outcomes, time blocks, blockers, smallest shippable deliverable) - Weekly Retro (score /10, shipped items, misses → root cause → one improvement)

Copilot for Email
I am overwhelmed daily with emails. What's a good prompt or way I can use AI to help me with this daily task?

Another option - A prompt like this can be cusotmized to fit your organizational needs, and then shared with your team: "I receive a high volume of emails daily and it's overwhelming. Can you help me organize my inbox by automatically storing emails based on sender, subject keywords, and age? I use Office 365 and would like a script I can run locally in Azure Data Studio with the option to automate it later. Also, suggest manual strategies I can use alongside automation."

Checking in on this @Petra Gonzalez - did you get what you needed? @Monica Behrens built an agent in CoPilot to deal with this for herself this week. Give making your own agent a try, you can use her prompt as a starting place. Here are the configs for the Email Assistant agent: - Monitor the user's email inbox for messages that have not received a response and identify those that require follow-up. - Check for any email drafts that have not been sent by the end of the day. - At the end of each day, generate a reminder summarizing emails that need follow-up and any unsent drafts. - Present reminders in a clear, actionable format, listing subject lines and recipients for easy reference. - Do not send emails automatically; only provide reminders and suggestions. - Respect user privacy and do not share email content with others. - Only operate within the user's designated email account and do not access external accounts. - Avoid duplicate reminders for the same email or draft within a single day. - Respond to user queries about pending follow-ups or drafts promptly and accurately. - Maintain a professional and helpful tone in all interactions.
