Why I Don't Compete on Features
Feature wars are unwinnable. Bigger competitors will always have more features. I compete on: - Speed (faster to value) - Simplicity (easier to use) - Focus (better at one thing) - Service (more responsive support) - Price (or premium positioning) Pick dimensions where more resources don't guarantee victory. How do you compete?

Landed a Partnership That 3x'd My Distribution
Cold emailed a newsletter with 50K subscribers. The pitch: "I'll write a free guest post. You share it. I mention my product once." They said yes. Results: - 2,400 clicks to my site - 180 new email subscribers - 23 new customers - $1,800 in revenue One email. 3x my normal week. What partnership could you pursue?
The 'Red Light, Green Light' Decision Framework
Stuck on decisions? 🚨 Use my Red Light, Green Light framework: 🚦 RED LIGHT (Stop immediately): - Requires money you don't have - Needs skills you don't have and can't buy - Depends on people saying yes before you start - No way to validate cheaply GREEN LIGHT (Go now): - Can start today with $0-$100 - Uses skills you already have - Doesn't need permission - Can validate in 48 hours YELLOW LIGHT (Investigate): - Interesting but unclear - Need more data - Talk to 5 people first - Build a landing page, see if anyone cares first Most "opportunities" are red lights disguised as green lights. What's one decision you're facing right now? What color is it?

The $25,500 Client I Almost Didn't Land
Got a $25,500 contract this week. Almost lost it twice. First almost-loss: My proposal was too complex. 4 pages. 12 milestones. They got overwhelmed. āš’ļø Fix: Simplified to 1 page. 3 phases. Clear outcomes. Second almost-loss: Didn't explain the value, just the work. "We'll build X, Y, Z" means nothing. āš’ļø Fix: Reframed around outcome. "In 4 weeks, you'll have a platform doing X, saving $Y per month." What sealed the deal: - Discovery call where I just listened - One-page proposal with clear ROI - Milestone 1 was low-risk ($1,100) - Fast response to every question (<2 hours) Clients buy outcomes, not hours. What's your best client-closing tip?

These Days I Say No to 90% of Feature Requests
My inbox is full of feature requests. Hundreds of them. I build maybe 10%. Not because I don't care. Because I care about focus. My filter: 1. Will this help more than 30% of users? 2. Does this align with our core value prop? 3. Can we build it in under 2 weeks? 4. Will it increase retention or conversion? If any answer is no, it goes to the "maybe later" pile. Features are easy to add, but sometimes impossible to remove. Say no more often. What request should you decline?
