A simple challenge and an easy win
I was thinking of a comment made by Caroline in the community which was if you like to write, then to grow your business, write, if you like to chat, then chat, if you like video, then produce. Maybe you like one of them, maybe all three. So here is the challenge. By the way, the win is all yours, the prize is yours to collect. The challenge is to write out 10 ways you will make what you prefer work for you. I suspect most can think of 1, 2 or 3, push it to 10, use AI, sleep on it. Pushing your list to 10 will give you more options, plus you will start to see how they can work together, and ultimately create an eco system you love to run. Please either share your list to inspire others, or let me know below you have done yours. Here's mine (I like all three modes unless I am trying to make a video in the street that is - got so many interruptions today): 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: 6: 7: 8: 9: 10: That was for you to cut and paste, here's my list for reals: 1: Make a series of videos 2: Write a series of books 3: Make a series of apps 4: Make resources for each main title 5: Integrate them all together 6: Create a community where I can help others, get feedback and deliver more. 7: Discover and write out a short list influencers. 8: Write out thought pieces (including random fiction) 9: Create more IP whenever I can 10: Let others know of the resources I create using articles, email and video

Lots of documentation. Well, the good news, is it is all possible. I would start this by putting an hour aside and put the timer on and give each point 6 minutes. In the six minutes we are not going for polished output, we looking for bullet points and maybe a sentence too. Do that and you will find your next steps will appear in front of you.

A How To Start A Business video series
Last night while working on uploading the updated version of How To Start A Business Without Any Money to Amazon, I thought I wonder how this would run as a TV show. I do have a cousin who is a TV producer, although I would not dream of asking him. So I set about writing an outline and then took each chapter to expand the outline to cover the book. Definitely episodic. This morning I set out with my iPhone and so far I have some of the first episode in the can. I am no actor, and no TV producer, but I think I may be on to something. An educational documentary style series. It needs work (there are captions), and a redo as not everything is perfect first time. I found a button on the microphone afterward that I could have selected that would have reduced the wind noise. It was fun. Here's a thought and a question for you, to potentially help your business. I started by making a video about one thing. The problem is we can make many one thing, one topic videos, but they don't link together, there is no protagonist or tension, just here it is content, which nowadays you can get from AI on demand anyway. Whereas a series tells a story, has reasoning and cliffhangers (which AI does not have) and a series is potentially bingeworthy. For shows we like, we tend to want more. So the question is, what shows would your audience like to bingewatch?

@Caroline Hurry I think you are right it is a lot. However, here's a thought for you. Would you prefer to focus on marketing using your writing skills? You don't need to become a designer, you don't have to become a video editor, or appear in videos etc, you could. You could also double down on the writing and achieve all your objectives through the written word.

@Caroline Hurry Happy you agree. So here's a thought, write out a list (and use AI) of all the places that might be interested in hearing about your books. I am thinking guest posts on other peoples blogs, finding people on X, and keyword research, use the Ask sites etc. Compile a list, and stop when you hit 70. Now you have ten a day to hit, or twenty every two days. You will sell more books in a couple of weeks and raise the position of the book on the Amazon listings, and if you keep it up, start to get new reviews too, especially if you ask for feedback. The really big bonus to this is you will make some friends and get to know much more about the world that your book sits within and perhaps get some more inspiration and add to your series. Engineer your income!
