Are business cards still a thing for you?
I'll be hitting more events and conferences this year and want to know whats the best way for the people you meet to remember you? Business cards have always been a kind of waste of paper for me but I've noticed QR scanning my LinkedIn account or something is not so steamlined. If you use QR scanning to share your creds, what do you use and where does it lead to?

@David Newman Nice card - it looks swish. A micro-billboard for your high level of qualification and the east-west creative alchemy thing you've got going 😎 As it happens, when I was in Vietnam, everyone offered me their business cards. Europeans seem to prefer going straight for LinkedIn (in my experience).

@Ari Rahmati Thanks, they're just little flat stickers you can buy from Amazon, Temu, etc. They're programmed with the tap of a button on any decent NFC app. I thought it would be challenging, but it was cheap and easy! Airports don't like them, though, so they need to be kept in a blocking sleeve.
User Persona/Experience Design
Hello everyone! In addition to the Design Thinking User Persona 'Empathy Map' exercise, what other exercises have you used/can you recommend to define a full E2E UX journey? Context: I am running a workshop for a client within the retail/luxe sector who is undergoing a global HR Transformation and implementing new ai technologies into their current HR Talent stack. Previous workshops (4! 😯) that they have conducted miss both the 'entry point' for each user persona and lack the 'feeling/empathy/engagement' aspect. Personas are within HR, Business, Employee & Candidates Any recommendations or ideas on how to approach this are appreciated! 😁

Hi Ruth, I find the Empathy Map is wonderful as a 'first step' exercise, and it's very time-efficient, but it doesn't go deep enough. Therefore, if I've got the time required, I facilitate the User Journey Map exercise, but plotting only the four quadrants of the Empathy Map along the way (think, feel, say & do). It's very helpful to have some solid user research insights to work with, too, so people aren't thumb-sucking. The Journey Map adds the 'time' variable to the Empathy Map and can reveal where there are gaps and opportunities in the user's experience to fill directly in the ideation phase.
Anyone including facilitation in branding services?
I’m coming from a design background and am interested in running brand strategy workshops using techniques from Facilitation Fundamentails while still providing creative materials. I also am excited by the value of helping teams get unstuck with other internal blockers with facilitation workshops. Has anyone else done brand strategy this way? Is adding internal team facilitation too different? Should that be under a separate brand/ webpage? Thanks for any feedback!

Here's one of my favourite exercises to run with a team in a branding or team-building workshop: It typically becomes a workshop highlight + ice breaker + branding breakthrough exercise for my participants! Get people to answer questions like 'if you were a car brand, which one would you be?', etc... you can pick the themes. Get them to plot the reason why they chose their answers, before plotting their answers (brands) on the 12 Brand Archetypes wheel. Then you help them 'interpret' the brand wheels and have a discussion around the variety of answers. You can use this to coach people developing their personal brands, and it's easy to translate for facilitating company branding. It works well in-person and is somehow even better online in Miro or equiv. It has a team-building effect, and often leads to epiphanies and 'wow' moments that make the workshop memorable and useful! I use it instead of (hateful) personality test exercises for coaching and it's also an essential exercise for focusing executives around what needs to be discussed and created in more corporate branding scenarios... honestly ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Design Thinking Slide-Deck + Full 2 Hour Session Recording
Hey there! My team and I just launched a 2-hour, step-by-step Design Thinking video + slide deck + resources, all for free! If you've ever wanted to run a Design Thinking session for your clients/team but didn't quite know how it should look, here you go! This video was super difficult and expensive to produce, so the only thing I ask is that if you find this useful, please share it, leave a comment (on youtube) or a like, or maybe... all of those things??? It helps us to know whether we should make more things like this or not. The slide deck + other resources: https://go.ajsmart.com/designthinking Enjoy the video! ----> https://youtu.be/J64VamE8LdE?si=IScLoXgZ--8CaFWv Cheers, Jonathan

Thanks @Jonathan Courtney - I just got back from facilitating a 2-day Design Thinking workshop in Mauritius (which was soo much fun). It's interesting to see how you approach this kind of workshop! I really appreciate you sharing this stuff.
Miro - Digital whiteboard feature that I LOVE
There has been a few comment on Face to Face, Virtual and my most challenging space Hybrid. I have used a few different digital whiteboard apps, but Miro has this great feature called “Stickies Capture”. It allows you to convert your physical post-it notes “Stickies” to digital ones that are fully editable. Just take a photo with your phone and it imports them seamlessly… just make sure that if you have grouped them you spread them out.. This has been helpful to quickly capture face to face outcomes and even in Hybrid for me. Here is a link. “Not a paid promotion” lol https://embed-fastly.wistia.com/deliveries/5d3d68b52d796f5f8f3e2d0589315471.webp?image_play_button_size=2x&image_play_button=1&image_play_button_color=050038e0 What digital whiteboard features are you using and what are you do you love about them.

I used this feature after an in-person workshop, digitising all the sticky notes for the handover pack. Client was blown away!
