For most of us, the honest answer is: when a client tells us. Usually days later, after they've given up trying to book and gone somewhere else. I made a short video showing how to fix that for free in about five minutes. It uses a tool called UptimeRobot, which checks your website every five minutes and emails you the moment it stops working. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/qDLdHIlwJWw What the video walks through: • Signing up for the free plan (it covers up to 50 websites) • Adding your website or booking page as a "monitor" • Turning on email alerts • Sending yourself a test alert, so you know it actually works • A bonus tip: the free phone app, for alerts you'll notice straight away The step people skip is the test. A warning that never reaches you is no warning at all. Send the test, and check it lands in your inbox, not your spam folder. If you take bookings online, monitor the booking page itself, not just your home page. That's the one that costs you clients when it breaks. Your turn: set it up this week, then reply below with "done" and which page you're monitoring. If you get stuck on any step, post a screenshot and I'll help you through it.
