Turning Passion into Business: Guidance on Collaborating with a Dreamer
I'm collaborating with an incredible individual named Ana, and I'm seeking your collective wisdom on shaping our partnership and a unique 5-day sprint we're planning. Ana has released a children's book, hosted workshops for over 1000 children across three continents, and is now exploring ways to turn her passion project into a viable business. What makes this partnership even more exciting is that Ana and I share interests in education, creativity, following dreams, and conducting workshops for children and parents. I see vast potential in what we can achieve together, but we need to create alignment and clarity. I have been putting a lot of thought into different ways to structure our relationship and how to actually go about prioritizing what we should work on first. A creative project? User interviews? A workshop? I shared with her the format from the "Sprint" book, and she liked the idea of exploring ideas and creating a prototype with can test with parents. I am kind of asking for a lot here in this post, so thank you in advance, and I would love to hear if people have had similar experiences with collaborations where you are working 1 on 1 with a client as both a facilitator and a creative collaborator? Your Expertise Needed: - Alignment and Exploration: Activities to align our creative visions and business goals. - Testing and Validation: Ideas for a live test with parents. - Transition from Passion Project to Business: Tips for converting passion into profit. - 5-Day Sprint Recommendations: Adaptations for a two-participant sprint. - Pricing Insights: Advice on value alignment and compensation structures. - Partnership Management: Wisdom on maintaining and nurturing our collaboration. Here's where I need your guidance: 1. Alignment and Exploration Recommendations: How can we nurture creativity while defining the core values and vision that guide her brand? Any activities or formats to align our partnership and the business's direction would be invaluable. 2. Testing Ideas: Suggestions on how to approach a live test with parents on the fifth day of our sprint. 3. Transition from Passion Project to Business: Any wisdom on converting passion into a sustainable business, especially one with strong social impact? 4. Recommendations for a 5-day Sprint: We're looking for adaptations or structures suited for a sprint with just two participants and short daily durations. 5. Pricing Insights: How should I approach pricing for this collaboration? It's a multi-faceted partnership with shared interests, so insights on value alignment, compensation structures, or general pricing advice would be deeply appreciated. 6. Advice on Relationship/Partnership Management: Since we have so many shared interests and the potential for a long-term collaboration, any wisdom on maintaining and nurturing our professional relationship would be most welcome. Should we have separate contracts for something like running the sprint and another contract if we collaborate on creative project?

Workshop Shadowing Opportunities?
Hi All, I am going through the material and I'm wondering if there are any opportunities to shadow or sit in on a real workshop somewhere near chicago so I can observe and learn first hand? I find that that is the best way for me to learn and contextualize all of the information. Thanks!

What workshop to propose?
Hi everybody, it is a great pleasure to be part of this community. I have no much practical experience in workshopping. Yesterday, I had a chat with customer of mine that shared he has a lot of ideas in his head but lack of structure and needs help with that issue. How would you recommend me to start and what kind of workshop to propose to him, what exercises would be best to include?

@Virzhiniya Georgieva Not exactly the answer you are looking for but startupschool.org is a really great resource for (aspiring) startup founders. Your client may find this video helpful, in particular https://www.startupschool.org/curriculum/how-to-get-and-evaluate-startup-ideas
Warm up exercises for people with dissabilities.
Hi Everyone. I am doing a design thinking workshop with a bunch of 20 individuals next week. It is with a group that have various disabilities. Some are blind, deaf, use wheelchairs and have various mental and physical disabilities. I am looking for ideas for a warm up exercise I can do with them. Would anyone have any ideas?

How about starting with a quick mindfulness practice like a guided meditation or breathing exercise?
📍Where is everyone from?📍
Hello Facilitators👋 I'm really curious about where everyone is from. I'd love to make this a mega post where we can see how diverse the Facilitator Club community is. Who knows, you might find a lot more people in your area than you thought! Once I have lots of answers on this post, I want to make a nice graph!
