Library Organization
I’ve just finished lesson 4 and it gave some very useful information. But my biggest obstacle has actually been with my library organization. I have confidence in my song selection but struggle to find and play new songs while mixing live. I feel that my main issue is that I’m not able to organize my library correctly and have many different variety songs I like in one playlist. I’m not able to come up with a strategy to organize my music so that my playlist are more cohesive and I’m able to play a bigger variety of music instead of resorting to the same songs i usually play. Is there any advice to tidy up my library?

Thank you for the advice, I will definitely be doing this. I don’t mind the time investment since I’ve come to learn that half of a DJs job is done before they even get on the stage by curating playlists and setting hot cues and memory cues so I’ve grown to love the tedious tasks. It’s just thought to do something just to realize that after a couple months you feel that your playlist is completely disorganized or don’t agree with my previous organization and have to re organize all my songs.
Where to start?
Head over to the Classroom tab for all courses. Happy learning!

Very insightful information, I’ve been learning to mix for about 1 year now and still not done with the course but have learned many tricks that I had not known before that allow for more creativity while mixing. Thank you for providing so much value at no cost and building a community around it.
