New to producing bands, any advice is welcomed
Iโve found myself in a new area of music. Iโm helping a new bad out by co writing and recording them. Iโm not sure how credit or split sheets work. Iโm also not entirely sure what the position of producer really means. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

@Tyler Watts a split is a doc that's states how much of a percentage each party is owed as either a songwriter or producer etc. The producer means different things. It's a position that helps the artist realize their vision. That could include, songwriting, arranging, lyrics. It could be helping with instrumentation, engineering and mixing. Define the meaning with the artist upfront. A producer I admire, told me once " I could throw 100 ideas out to the band and they could reject 99 of them and the 1 idea they like, they don't actually use the full idea but it morphs into something cool, then I did my job".
