In the k20 I just got 6x9's in the back and I intergraded 4.5's in the dash. Nothing special. The C10 is getting a retro sound deck and 2 10's behind the seat with the 6x9's. Don't really know what to do up front. Might do kick panels 🤷🤷. Really like your door pods.
Build a 6.2 diesel or twin turbo first gen LT1
Hey everybody — how’s your week going so far? Just wanted to check in and catch up. We’ve had about 20 new members join in the last couple weeks, so welcome to all of you. Glad you’re here. Now for the big update… The old 6.2 diesel isn’t hurt, but it’s definitely not performing like it used to. I think it’s time to either freshen it up or change things up completely. Here’s my dilemma. I’ve always loved the 6.2. It’s reliable, simple, and cool in its own way… but let’s be honest — it’s pretty lackluster in the power department. Option 1: Pull the 6.2, tear it down, rebuild it. • Roller rockers (maybe 1.6s) • Some head work • Cummins turbo setup • Upgraded injection pump • Fluid damper By the time I’m done, I’m probably $5,000–$6,000 into it on the low end. Option 2: I already have a twin turbo kit sitting at the house for a small block 350. It needs a little work, but it’s there. I keep coming back to the idea of doing a budget twin turbo LT1 build — like a ’95 Camaro or Corvette engine. There are quite a few around here. They’re already fuel injected. I could probably build the engine itself for around $3,000–$4,000 since I’d keep it mild — maybe 5 lbs of boost, stock bottom end, aiming for around 400 horsepower. People do it all the time. But… the standalone ECU and harness setup is about $2,700. So now I’m right back in the $6,000–$7,000 range. So what do you guys think? Do I: • Refresh and upgrade the 6.2 and keep it diesel? OR • Go twin turbo small block / LT1 and make way more power? I think the twin turbo setup would be way cooler and obviously way stronger… but there’s something about keeping the diesel too. I’m still going to make my own decision, but I’d honestly like to hear your opinions. What would you do?

Could you put the small block in for now as you build the the Six2? I guess depending on Wheeling you want to do this year. Just to be different and have something no one else has, I'd do the 6.2 build up, or maybe step up to the 6.5 or 6.6?? Stick to diesel to be the one off... Or hell even the twin snails on the SBC would be titts on a ritz
Bulk head
I've got a question for the engine side of the bulk head. What wire is what. Is there a good schematic for my 81c10. I can't go off my k20, it was methed with by tweekers.

@Forest Johnson no my two-wheel drive is not really messed with it all It just has no motor and all the wiring is kind of just hanging out and I want to get it nice and tidy and in its proper home where it's going to land. I just don't know what wire is what on the engine side of the bulkhead.

I mean obviously I know one set goes to the rear tail lights and the other set goes to the headlights. I just need to know pretty much the left side of the plug on the bulkhead. What wires are what.
Is this Group Actually Helpfull?
DO any of you guys actually enjoy and use this group. I'm thinking about canceling it due to the lack of use. This group cost me $100 a month to keep it open and it just doesn't seem like anyone uses it.

Yeah Justin, I would probably just give it a little bit of time. Other people will realize who the cool kids are 😜. And it will be a mass moving of plenty of people here.
Alright everyone — let’s do a quick community check-in.
I want to hear what you’re all working on right now. Big projects, small projects, parts on order, ideas still on paper — it all counts. How’s your build coming along? What did you finish recently? What’s the next thing you’re tackling? Drop an update in the comments and post some pictures if you’ve got them. This community gets better the more we share, help each other, and stay involved. Also, if you’ve got friends who own Squarebodies and would fit in here, invite them in. We’re building this the right way — as a family, not just another group. We’ve got another giveaway planned once we hit 500 members, and the more good people we bring in, the better this place becomes for everyone. Really appreciate all of you being here and helping shape this community. Let’s keep it positive, helpful, and focused on building badass Squarebodies together.
