Welcome to The Simple Life Project!
Hey everyone โ€” Iโ€™m Enrique Ontiveros, and this community is for people who want to simplify life, strengthen their faith, and build consistency in everything they do. Drop a quick intro below: where youโ€™re from, which platform got you here, what brought you here, and one thing youโ€™re trying to simplify this month.

Quick intro, and quick will be judged by how fast you read, not how short I write. Iโ€™m from the era where in 2004 my parents bought a family computer and placed it in the living room like a sacred object. Thatโ€™s where I started messing around with technology, which eventually turned into MySpace, then YouTube, then Facebook, and later discovering that Facebook Messenger was not just a feature but a lifestyle. Somewhere around 2009, messaging became the main way I stayed connected, and Iโ€™ve basically been in a conversation that never really ended since then. One friend in particularโ€ฆ weโ€™ve been talking for so long it feels like the chat is just on pause, not finished. That ongoing conversation is actually what led me here. Funny enough, it wasnโ€™t a flashy post or algorithm rabbit hole, just a real conversation on Facebook that pointed me toward this community. What brought me here is the idea of simplifying without pretending life isnโ€™t messy. Faith, consistency, and discipline sound great on paper, but Iโ€™m here to actually slow things down and live them out instead of just thinking about them. What Iโ€™m trying to simplify this month is my caffeine and carb intake, because at this point my energy drinks and bread-based decisions are clearly working together behind my back. Faith-wise, Iโ€™m trying to slow down, tune in, and ground myself in the present instead of constantly running ahead mentally. So yeah, thatโ€™s the โ€œquickโ€ intro. Looking forward to learning, refining, and maybe simplifying one thing at a time instead of everything all at once.
What does your diet look like?
Hey guys post what your diet looks like and how is that working for you?

Alright, you ready here's my diet. It's a blend of what I call โ€œmodrn working-class survival cuisine.โ€ Cheeseburgers are definitely a recurring theme not every day, but if you plotted my meals, thereโ€™s a distinct cheeseburger pattern emerging. Ramen sneaks in occasionally, mostly when Iโ€™m either short on time, funds, or just need a quick fix. Sushi shows up, too itโ€™s my attempt at balance, like a culinary reset button. Now, protein is a tale of two chickens. Fried chicken is a staple but letโ€™s call it โ€œstrategic fried chicken.โ€ When Iโ€™m feeling like I need to look like Iโ€™m trying harder, rotisserie chicken steps in itโ€™s the same idea, just with less breading. Coffee is my constant companion mostly black or lightly sweetened but every so often, I do cave to a Starbucks masterpiece thatโ€™s basically a dessert in a cup. Expensive? Sure. Worth the morale boost? Absolutely. On the hydration front, I drink a lot of water. So much that I like to believe it cancels out at least one poor decision. But energy drinks? Yeah, I probably drink more of those than coffee. There are moments when my heart sends me subtle โ€œmaybe stopโ€ hints. I listenโ€ฆ eventually. When it comes to snacks, I lean sweet over salty. Iโ€™ll pass on chips, but put a cookie in front of me and Iโ€™m not hesitating. Now, carbs. Lots of carbs. In fact, if you just repeated โ€œlots of carbsโ€ four times, thatโ€™s a fair summary. Is it optimal? Probably not. Is it honest? Absolutely. Itโ€™s working well enough still alive, still learning, still open to improvement but letโ€™s be real, the cheeseburger stays.
ME MEAT LIKE ๐Ÿ–
New here. Havenโ€™t gone full carnivore yet still a civilized ogre. Curious about the benefits and thinking of starting with a hybrid approach before I start gnawing on ribeyes full-time. Why do doctors warn against red meat but not against ultra-processed carbs? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
