Hey everyone,I wanted to share something personal. The past few weeks have been heavier than usual for me, and I’ve been navigating a really difficult time behind the scenes. I’m doing my best to stay consistent here because this community genuinely means a lot to me. Your messages, your creativity, your growth, all of it keeps me going. If you’ve been finding value in this space and you feel called to support, I do have a Buy Me A Coffee page. There’s zero pressure. The community will always stay open and free, and I’ll keep showing up. But any support right now would help me keep creating, posting, and building what we’re building together. buymeacoffee.com/dannydragone Either way, thank you for being here. This community has been a bright spot for me, and I’m grateful for every one of you.

Let's Come Together
Hey everyone, friendly reminder: This community only gets better when we actually talk to each other. Don’t be shy — post your work, ask questions, share a win, rant about writer’s block, whatever. If you’re waiting for the perfect moment to contribute, spoiler alert: it probably doesn’t exist. Just jump in. And just to be clear, you don’t need to be selling something to post here (in fact, I'd rather you ease off on it). Think of this like a writer’s room, a creative coffee shop, or a slightly chaotic but supportive group chat where we’re all trying to get better at what we do. So go ahead… make a post, show up, and let the rest of us know what you’re working on. We’re here for it.
NEW WEEK MOTIVE
What motivates you to keep writing even when it’s tough? Let’s inspire each other this week 💪What

@Rich Gomez An outline definitely definitely helps (with an ending is even better). Sometimes it will shift but at least you know the direction you're headed.

@Taylor Ruf yes, exactly. Many people that their story will get ripped off. I'm more worried (or excited i should say) that that my story will get written exactly the way I want it to be. No one can take that from me.
Writing challenges
As a person who is def more of a pantser than a plotter one thing I like to do is just write and see how that story unfolds. Sometimes its more fun to let the story write itself of that makes sense.

I mean, and there is nothing wrong with that. Like i said, without all that pantsing I would never had anything to work with. And that's why I always say Write the First Page. It's because those ideas will turn into something if, and only if, you love rewriting, which is how most writers have crafted the stories that we end up reading. 1st drafts, 15th drafts, rewrites, edits, developmental editing. it can be a lot, but when it's finally finished, man, it feels good.

@King Madempire Sorry I missed this comment. My advice would be to try just moving forward with the story. Stop thinking about editing and stay focused on the writing. This will keep you grounded in the story. Every time I sit down to write, I usually look back at the previous chapter or wherever I left off, do a quick and simple edit to that, and then move forward with writing the story. First drafts are supposed to be messy.
How’s your creative mindset doing?
Mine is… well… Take a moment and try to imagine a squirrel trying to file taxes. That’s pretty much the energy. I’ve been bouncing around like:• “Must create!”• “Must make money!”• “Must remember what I walked into the kitchen for!” And as soon as I start working from stress instead of inspiration, my brain turns into dial-up internet (anyone old enough to remember how that worked?). I know I will be over this hump soon. So I’m taking today to reset and get back into creative flow instead of creative panic. Your turn: What’s helping (or destroying) your creative focus this week?

@Lyndsay Johnson If you use it for cases like that, then you're actually using discriminative AI, which is much different than generative AI. Discriminative would be something like Grammarly or even Google for research. They're not writing your book for you. For adjectives, you can also just find sites using Google that will find all the synonyms for words. Also, if you use Amazon KDP to publish (and I think there are some other similar sites), which are free to use, and get books and e-books to readers. If you have no money, just try to build a good community on social media and use guerrilla marketing (DMing people/emails). Marketing is my least favorite part, unless I could spend more money on advertisements, then I would.

If you haver a finished book, you can try to pitch a query to a literary agent. If they can get you a deal with a major publisher, then they will take care of most of the marketing and help you make your book for readers. Of course, this isn't as easy it sounds, as they get so many manuscripts everyday. You will get plenty of rejections. Self publishing requires that you do your own marketing. You need to maybe build your social media pages to reach more audience and buy ads to promote your books. While Amazon KDP will publish your book for free, the marketing part is the more difficult process.
