Champagne anxiety 🍾
I just wrote a champagne email for an upcoming workshop I'm doing about running a research lab (I coach women professors). When I was writing it, I was like, "I'm going to be putting off all of those newbies who have never run a lab before" but pressed on with the champagne mentality that those will be attracted anyway. Does anyone else have champagne anxiety? I feel like I never have it on things like coaching mindset and time management, but for some reason this lab management stuff got me feeling anxious.

EEEEK JUST WHAT I NEED!
Tech and tools: all-in-one vs. combo approach?
Hi all! I'm a 1:1 coach who's just finishing up my first small group programme (coaching + Vimeo links of content). I was all ready to uplevel and jump in investing with Kajabi as joint course host and CRM... and then I discovered Mariah. So I'm rethinking everything and also now feeling more confident to launch a community (which my former business coach would always say not to do until you had made $100k 1:1). I'm thinking of launching my community on Skool, but here's the thing that's slowing me down... Kajabi seemed like a nice, neat all in one solution for my woes. Combine emailing and CRM with course hosting and replace my shitty website. But when I look at Mariah's tech recommendations, there are so many it makes my head spin. So my question is, what are the benefit of having ConvertKit, SamCart, Air Table, Skool etc. all separate instead of all-in-one? As a newbie to this world am I better just going for an all-in-one? I appreciate Kajabi might not do all of this, I'm yet to get to grips with any of these. Any thoughts appreciated!

Just to update anyone reading this, I ended up going for Squarespace over Mariah's recommendation of LeadPages purely on the price basis. My business is on the side of my full-time job right now and I made $15k last year. LeadPages was significantly more expensive. HOWEVER, Squarespace is clunky af. I am so surprised -- all those slick podcast adverts from a decade ago are still in my head and I assumed it would be a piece of cake for me to navigate. It's a pain in the arse. So if you have the dough to invest, I'd go with @Mariah Coz's recommendation.

@Cait Backeris Thanks for this! To be honest, I had such an issue with Squarespace tech where they took a week to get back to me earlier this year and my site was down for like 10 days! This and that their discussion forum doesn't render properly on my browsers (just constantly refreshing) just puts me off trusting them with anything. I'm so happy this is working for you though, maybe I will check it out one day! FWIW, I'm now using Skool for my community, Thrivecart for stand alone courses, and ConvertKit for emails. I have had points where I'd wished I'd just gone with Kajabi for the ease of sync up, but I think I'm now at a point where I've got automations set up and my ultimate outcome is actually better. I still don't have a good system for collecting testimonials.
To VA, or not to VA? And where to find a VA who gets it?
My coaching business is small at the moment and I run it alongside a full-time job as a professor (I'm going 3 days a week from January). I want to grow my business and I'm wondering whether it will be beneficial to hire a VA, even just for a couple of hours a week, to do the things that take ages. For example, this morning I bashed out a blog post/newsletter in about 25 minutes. But the whole process of: πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Writing the post πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Creating the document in my Organic Content Machine πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Posting it to Squarespace πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Posting it to email newsletter in ConvertKit πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Making instagram posts in Canva and posting has taken me 3 hours. My time is precious. I have a 2 year old. I bet a VA could do this in a fraction of the time and make it look better. At the same time, I'm all for a light and lean business. I don't want to be hiring out if I don't need to. But there are so many areas that I could be investing my time in better, like creating my LTO funnel or my Evergreen Engine. What is best to do? I would like a VA, but I want one who "gets" the kind of Mariah-style way, like OCM and efficient and nice-looking content. My next question is, where do I find one who gets it?

@Susanne Rieker I have just scheduled a chat with someone tomorrow, but I'd still love to see your guide if you are happy to share!

@Sarah Crosley I suppose it's just the actual time to upload to each different bit of tech (squarespace, convertkit, canva, instagram) - I'd thought about automating my blog but that feels like it'd take more time than it's worth. I only have about 10 hours a week to spend on my business atm so feel hard to leverage that for the best.
