Anyone who knows me knows I love a bit of networking. Today I met with a potential new venue for a major event in 2027. More of that later. How did I get to be there today, working collaboratively to come up with an amazing deal for us, the venue and everyone who is going to visit it? Well, 16 years ago, I met @Colin McKeand. He and I have chatted ad-nauseum and worked together on tons of things. 2 years ago, he introduced me to Ciaran from a Cinema Chain. I spoke to Ciaran many times, at length, and we hit it off. We then did a partnership to bring networking events around the UK into cinemas. At one of those events, a venue manager came along, and we got chatting. That resulted in us agreeing to chat more and talk about collaborations. Today, after 4 trains and 4 hours, we met and worked out a fabulous arrangement. This all traces its origins back to a phone call in 2010. The moral of the story. Have a chat. About anything. Get to know one another. Amazing things will happen. Find someone on here you don't know. Start a conversation. Let me know where it takes you.

Good morning everybody, I'm writing this message from the train heading down to Liverpool, Chester and Warrington to check out some venues for our business shows later in the year and some cool new places for networking. I was going to name check everybody who joined the group yesterday but we had over 100 new members in a day, how mad is that? Right now I am looking for people who have demonstrable expertise in their area of business who would like to look after forums within the community to give free advice and assistance to fellow members. I'm not naive enough to think that you will generate some business from it, which is absolutely fine, however, the forum needs to be one of giving advice and not sales pitches.
