Thanks Joe for sharing and creating this group. I came here to share some things that I’ve been going through, maybe it will help me to get it off my chest, maybe someone else can get value from it. I love poker; am 46 years old and came up in the days of poker room, paradise poker then tilt & stars did well in tournaments then gave it all back and more playing cash. I played millions of hands online rea every book I could find and played a decent amount live. I don’t play any more, but I still love the game and follow everything poker related and think it might be time to get back into playing as an alternative outlet to trading and something fresh to focus my mind on. I wanted to share my experience from trading over the last 5 years after really hitting rock bottom and having to face selling my car tomorrow to pay rent after huge success for a few years with a bankroll of $250k 2 years ago and running a 7 figure fund 2 years before that.. I traded many different sssets, traded most days for 5 years and have had some huge wins, roundtrips and losses over that time. the past year has been horrific, my trading graph goes down only since June 2025 , -$131k . I lost everything that I’d worked hard to create for myself and my family and borrowed money to try to make it back, then lost that. It is horrible losing everything like this. I’m not okay and it’s come to a point where I need help to stop trading because it’s incredibly unhealthy and I fear that Ifs taking years off my life aside from destroying my mental and health physical health and family life. After having a taste of success and how fast and easily money can come I’ve found it hard to do a regular jon that pays in a month what I used to be able to make in a day. But the reality is I need to find some alternative ways of making money, and start plugging the leaks of which the main one has been trading, which Ironicslly I always used to be very good at, and it’s something I have great knowledge at, but everything I’ve been doing for the last year hasn’t worked, I’m addicted, and it needs to stop .
