BUSINESS REGISTRATION+EIN SETUP
Starting the Year on the Right Foot The beginning of the year often brings new business ideas and fresh starts. Many founders focus on getting registered properly, securing an EIN or business number, confirming their business name, and understanding basic state or country filing requirements so they can operate legally from day one. Having these essentials in place helps reduce stress and allows businesses to move forward with confidence. What part of business registration do you think matters most when starting out?

@Julia Smith Yup i'm all good
Day 4 was a doozy...
Day 4 of my 30 challenge to "Beat" my inhaler was pretty tough...but I did it! Activity: 4.25 mile run. Total Time: 41-ish minutes Start Time: 7:30 PM Temperature: 26F I'm trying different things to build up my lung capacity so I can hopefully not need to use my inhaler...as much. I have exercise induced asthma but for the last two months, I've needed to use my inhaler more often than right before I workout...even though I do CrossFit 3x per week. This run was a STRUGGLE! My legs hurt. My toes hurt. My stomach was tight. And I could hardly breathe. It was towards the end of the day and my Dopamine levels were very low. Mentally, this was a challenge for me. I didn't have much left in my mental tank. Luckily, my son joined me on his bike and helped keep me going! Follow along to see how I do over the next 30 Days and if I can "beat" my inhaler! How are you progressing with your goals/habits?

@Shannon Carpenter Oh Wow. That is very serendipitous indeed. Thank you for sharing. Sounds like it's going to be a great book. Would love to hear your thoughts after you finish with it.

@Ryan Morency Very cool! You are in for a fun journey. I work a full-time job and do my content on the side. I try to do 1-2 hours a day on it. I do all my long content editing on my laptop and all my shorts on my phone. I would highly recommend jumping into the “shorts” realm because they will improve your long content editing and even filming. It is very hard to condense a big project into a clip which lasts less than 60 seconds. But you really get a sense for what is important to show and what is unnecessary fluff. After doing those, you soon learn how to improve your long form content and what should be edited out. You get better at your hooks and you get better with voice overs which can sometimes tell your story better. Shorts also help you reach a new audience when you post on YT, IG, and FB (and others if you choose to). Just my two cents. My sustainable plan has been to push for 2 shorts per week and a long video every 2-3 weeks depending. What software do you use for your long content editing?

@Ryan Morency All good things for sure. Sounds like you've done a lot of research. I agree with the feedback to get one platform going at a time for sure. It seemed like you were pretty far on your journey so I thought it would be a okay to bring up the short form content. Nice job creating a video so quickly and consistently. What are you posting on Skool to make it different than your YouTube content? I started YouTube much earlier than Skool so I am struggling on how to make Skool "worth it" for people to come and learn. I've never used Premier Pro. I started with Capcut but quickly switched to Davinci. Yeah it takes a while to get comfortable talking to a camera for sure. I can't image how much of a change it must be for your son too. Props to him for trying something new! Yes each new video is definitely a learning experience for sure. I have to keep reminding myself that when I work hard on a video but it doesn't perform as well as I'd hoped. As long as I am trying to learn, grow, and developing these skills, then it was a success. Yes making and editing videos definitely takes a lot of time but I always like having something to work on. Something where my thoughts can be occupied and I feel like I am accomplishing something. My end objective is definitely to make enough to not work my 9-5 and do more paying construction projects on my own while still making content. I'd like to make enough to support my family and to also go on a humanitarian construction project each summer with one of my kids. You know...give back while also helping my kids experience giving back in different ways. One day...
30 Day Challenge - Can I Beat My Inhaler?
Hey there! I know, the title doesn't really resonate with my DIY channel...Or does it? Part of why I came up with UCanBuildThis as the name of my YouTube Channel was to be somewhat All Encompassing. Going outside of typical DIY projects and helping improve my mindset into knowing I Can Do Hard Things. No Matter What Life Throws at me. I'm trying something new because I hate how dependent I am on my Inhaler! I have asthma. Has it stopped me from doing some things in the past? Maybe...a little... Has it been an inconvenience? Yes...and I would like it to be less disruptive in my life. I would like to NOT have to bring my inhaler with me for every workout, or every hike, or every camping trip. I am not sure where this 30-day challenge will take me but I'm excited to see what my body can do! What's something you've always wanted to try? I would love to see you push yourself and try something new with me!

How to hang something heavy on your Walls without using Drywall Anchors!
I wanted to share one of my best tips: How to hang anything heavy on your wall WITHOUT using drywall anchors. Check out our short video to see how we do it. Once you try it, we guarantee you'll never use sheetrock anchors again to hang up your towel rods or curtains! This method ensures nothing will ever fall off your walls again and you'll never need to patch massive holes from your failed drywall anchors!
