Lately, I've been interacting with @Daniel Reynolds & @Siebren de Vos on Twitter. It's been so much fun, but sometimes they don't show up in my feed. So, I created a Synthesizer Twitter List to see their Tweets. (and yours) Add your Handel to this post, and I'll add you to the Synthesizer Twitter List. Cheers

Worth bearing in mind this is likely skewed heavily towards YT due to the cohort of synthesisers largely coming from watching one of Andrew’s YT videos. Unlikely this sample represents the population of synthesisers across all platforms Interesting results though!

@someonewhowantstoeditvideos this is your sign to stop thinking and start acting
Like you, I joined Synthesizer School after watching one of Andrew’s YouTube videos. In April, he pitched me on the idea of a place for content creators to start, refine, and accelerate their journeys into the creator economy through synthesizing information. No need to create any ‘original’ content - perfect for a lazy person like me. Once inside, I gobbled up all the information I could get my hands on, I smashed through the free course and binge watched a tonne of Andrews videos. (This one is still my favourite, and I believe his most poignant.) Engaging with posts, greeting new joiners, joining content creation challenges - I was logging on every day to get the most out of this group. By doing this, by becoming an active member of the community, surely I was on my way to unlocking the most value this community has to offer? Surely I was bound to cut through all the noise and get to the best bits? I thought I was headed down the right path. … Recently, I had a bunch of calls with some of the guys I’ve met on here. (Shout outs to @Connor Widmaier @Siebren de Vos @Shivam Jha) We got on a zoom call and talked about all things related to content creation, business, ambitions, hobbies, anything at all. I joined Synthesizer School in April, and it took me until August to get on calls with people. And boy am I glad I did. These guys are AWESOME. But amongst the ideas, conversations, and reflections on our individual synthesizer, it got me thinking: Chatting with those guys was far better than logging into Synthesiser School everyday to see new posts. Building deeper relationships and connecting with people through similar interests was what made me stop, think, and (most importantly) act. Then I realised… That was it. That was the best feature of Synthesiser School. The best part of Synthesizer School is you.

Twitter content is top of the funnel. So it has to be simple. But when I started on Twitter, it was fascinating. And I was learning tons. Like here: https://twitter.com/naval/status/1002103360646823936 https://twitter.com/IAmAndrewKirby/status/1423278630566699011 https://twitter.com/dickiebush/status/1419816281130344451 Now I feel like I'm getting the same ideas over and over and scrambling my brain every time I log on. What's your take on Twitter?

Have been interested in reading this so looking forward to your summary! What’s your twitter handle?
(4/6 of our accountability calls) Three weeks ago some members of the community started a weekly Zoom call to connect with each other, hold each other accountable, and solve each other's problems. The main goal is to create one piece of content per week, for 6 weeks. To build the habit of creating, and grow your audience. You can see a recording of the first call here. And a recording of the third call here. This weeks call will follow a mastermind format inspired by Think and Grow Rich. Here's how the call will work: A member of the call will be randomly chosen by @Wiktor Romanowicz. The chosen member will describe: 1. Their current situation around synthesizing 2. Their desired situation around synthesizing 3. Any problems that are holding them back from reaching their desired situation. This should take less than 3 minutes, so if you tend to ramble, it could be a good idea to come to the call prepared with a rough idea of what you're going to say. Then the rest of the members of the call will try their best to help the chosen member solve their problem! People can unmute themselves, offer advice, recall times they were in similar situations and what they did, provide content recommendations etc. Ideally responses are short and concise, mindful of everyone's time. Then after roughly 10 minutes, another hotseat member is randomly chosen. I've personally paid a looooooot of money to attend similar mastermind calls, and have received a tonne of value from it (what's more valuable than a group of intelligent people all working on solving your most pressing problems?). The call will go on for around 60 minutes. And even if you're not chosen, chances are people are going through similar problems to you, so it'll still be valuable. Plus teaching is the best way to learn.

I am due to be travelling during the call this week:( but I will listen in if I can. I saw a shedload of value delivered in last week's call so if you missed it then I would highly recommend catching up on the recording!
REVISED TO INCLUDE A NEW OPTION FOR VOTING: For the past six weeks, several of us have been meeting on a video call regarding what we're working on and what help we'd like, with fellow synthesizers weighing in with their expertise, suggestions, and opinions. This call was originally set up as part of a six-week challenge accountability call, but it has turned into a fantastic way to learn from each other and encourage each other regardless of the pacing of our content creation. However, the timing of the calls have been inconvenient for most of our fellow synthesizers in the Americas, so how do we expand the conversation to include them? And, if we do change the time, how do we continue to include our friends in Australia and other parts of the world where the current timing works fine but an Americas-friendly timing might not? The first six weeks of the original challenge have concluded, but the calls have been so productive, we'd like to continue with regular meet-ups of some sort. So... Poll: If we were to have an Americas-friendly call that is also workable for as many Synthesizers who would like to join us, what time would work best for you? (Only answer if you think you might want to attend!)

Less frequently - invoke scarcity and get more people on each call
So a few months ago I dropped a Dm here in this group to @Matej Stehlik because I saw he was also from Slovakia, we started to talk, and quickly we became good friends, this is the second time us meeting in Kosice so I can say, that I made a real friend in this group

Stayed up late for this one. Kept grafting. Thought about deleting. Tried writing in a new space. Thought it sucked. Persevered. Finally got it done. Very tired now. But it's out there - and we're onto the next one! One of the easiest ways to get consistent at something is to do it with friends that will hold you accountable. I remember when I was starting going to the gym, I was overwhelmed. There are just too many things to do. Benches, machines, pretty girls... But my friend has told me that if you show up and do the work one day, you will laugh at the things that you are doing right now. He would show up at my house every 2 days and forced me to go with him, after 6 months I was hooked. He didn't need to push me to lift anymore. Yesterday I have done 115 kg at the bench press... ( it is not that much but took years) but what does it have to do with you and how you are going to improve at creating content? If you start right, you will be set for life, but if you get discouraged, you might grow resentful and never go back to the amazing things that publishing content might bring you. As a member of this community, now you have the access to see who is publishing content and who is not. Link to the sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19XeRwsj6N0Pv_ebklizA2BcA7lBcRwbHfApFg-DUHEU/edit?usp=sharing If you want to participate in the challenge, just send me a message and I will give you the edit access. Rules: - Post your content in the "Posting Accountability" category - Give genuine feedback to at least one person on someone's content (longer than 30 words) - If you want to join, start with the 6-week challenge: https://www.skool.com/synthesizers/uploading-sprint - When we finish the challenge, you can continue to publish videos with us for as long as you want - if you want to publish content on a different schedule, you can just add comments to the sheet @Benedek Santa @Daniel Reynolds @Allan R. @Mike Aheirwe @Tapan Gautam @Andrew Kirby

I have just realised I'm a week out of sync on the publishing schedule 🤣
Andrew recently tweeted about putting a calendly link in bio, and as an experiment, I will try this out! Why? - to build stronger relationships with my viewers - get to know their problems, so I can help them (maybe they can give video ideas) - and there is a chance, that I will meet with some interesting people or future clients - it can help improve my skills to talk with people on calls the only downside is that it will cost my time, but we will see how this experiment will go you can find the link, on my youtube channel tweet: https://twitter.com/IAmAndrewKirby/status/1517135511487676417 I'm interested, in what you guys think about this experiment

Thread just dropped on "permissionless acts" - heavily inspired by taking Jack Butcher's Permissionless Apprentice course (it's free right now...) https://visualizevalue.com/products/the-permissionless-apprentice If you've been following along with this challenge then keep going! It's never too late to post. I'm up ~50% follower count since starting (proof that consistency works!) I'm rooting for all of you on here. @Mike Aheirwe Thanks Mike! Definitely doing the right things I read something recently about looking at opportunities in terms of probabilities rather than expectations "If I do this, I have a higher chance of getting x " Not "If I do this, I will get x " I think this applies here

Hey @Meliksah Eminoglu, what sort of content do you create?
Hello synthesizers! Today I would like to ask all of you (and you, @Andrew Kirby, specifically), which software would you choose and why if you were just starting out to build your personal knowledge management system? My perspective is coming from the concept of the 2nd brain from Tiago Forte where you have a system to store information/knowledge, make the connections between that stored information/knowledge and then use that create. Whether you create for yourself or in order to share value with others is an afterthought. I'm personally interested in using a system like that in order to get as deep as I can on what I learn and be able to create wisdom that will bring value for others by helping them solve their problems. I want the wisdom I create to be problem solving and actionable. PS: Please try to put aside the fact that you maybe have been using Evernote for 10 years and you don't want to switch or something like that. Please recommend me what would you use if you were just starting out now from scratch.

My approach to taking notes and learnings is to optimise for minimal resistance - I want to be able to get my thoughts down on paper asap. This is my workflow: • Notes/thoughts/ideas: Apple notes + paper journal (whichever is closest to me) • Tweet ideas: draft tweets section of twitter app • Twitter thread ideas: Writehouse.app • Learnings: Moleskine XL journal I've never used an 'all in one' knowledge management system as it feels like an extra step that I have to take - perhaps I'm missing out!

The main goal is to create one piece of content per week, for 6 weeks. To build the habit of creating, and grow your audience. You can see a recording of the first call here. The call will go on for around 75 minutes. And even if you're not chosen, chances are people are going through similar problems to you, so it'll still be valuable. Plus teaching is the best way to learn. I will not be attending, but @Wiktor Romanowicz does a great job of hosting.

@Mike Aheirwe This makes sense, be purposeful in the DM's
Here is a quick recap of the persuasion presentation from our accountability call. I made this because the recording got deleted, but some of you wanted to see it. Start: Who needs to learn persuasion? Everyone, but especially Synthesizers. Because if you can write persuasively, you can: Write words that sell at scale. Whether that's in a • Tweet • Video or • landing page And with the internet, the opportunity to leverage your words (and message) is unlimited. But you knew that already. That's why you're here. Disclaimers: If you use these tools for unethical short-term gain, you will only hurt yourself in the long run. Use these powerful tools for good. Also, don’t blindly believe me. I am still learning. Test these principles yourself. If you disagree, comment below. Without further ado, 7 Stupid Easy Ways to Instantly Improve your communication 1. Admit a flaw When you admit a flaw, • you show your humility, • you show your honesty, and • you become more relatable At the start of my most viral video (127,000 views), I said, “Hey, this videos gonna be in German, so if I make any mistakes, please let me know in the comments.” I meant it for real because I wanted feedback, but in the end, hundreds of Germans commented offering help, and that video catapulted me to monetization. @Andrew Kirby did this well in his early videos by admitting his struggle to gain control of his life. 2. Specific > Hypothetical You can use Specific Dates and Places: Saturday, April 23rd Greetings from Konstanz, Germany Specific Names: "Jerome gets more time than Brandon" - Kanye West "Len is a friend of mine with an eye for good products" - Joe Sugarman (from legendary BluBlocker Ad) And Specific Numbers: “I was so broke my Dad had to loan me 4,000 dollars just to pay my bills.” - Ray Dalio > I was poor The online community of a productivity YouTuber with 600,000 subs > some YouTube community 3. YESSS that is my goal too! Let's goooo
Hi everyone, I'm Kennedy, I'm 26 and live in London After suffering from the 'ick' of the 9-5 rat race one too many times, this year I've decided to follow a career I'm confident I'll no longer experience the 'ick': entrepreneurship The content I enjoy mostly surrounds comics/manga, philosophy and self-improvement. A short while ago, I silently started a YouTube channel to document my journey of personal development and share tips and insight along the way. I say silently because I want to see how many strangers find value in the content I share so I've not told any friends or family I'm here to achieve financial freedom and I feel I'm in amazing company!

Welcome Kennedy, great to have you here!
I still have some issues with the set-up of the microphone, but I have to order even better equipment for the next ones I think that over time it is easier for me to upload. Should I buy a soft box for the lighting for this video?

Great content! Love to see the accountability posting. I'm with @Corey Bennett Boardman regarding lighting, and would add that framing your face in the shot is equally as important as the audio! Consider the 'rule of thirds' for framing your face at the top of the shot, rather than the centre ▼▼▼
