4 workflows for real ROI in Copilot Cowork
I wanted to share 4 workflows that I have set up in Copilot Cowork that have saved me a ton of time. ⏲️ I've spent time refining these with custom skills, scheduled prompts, and tweaking the prompts overall for consistency. What are some of the ways in which you use cowork daily? i have some of the skill md files i use in the classroom if you wanted to check them out: About - Copilot Cowork Skills · Tminus365

This is awesome Thanks so much Nick!
Microsoft Cowork Cost
Pro tip of the day: Microsoft Cowork now has a Cost skill you can call with /cost to understand how many credits you've consumed within a chat. I spent $6 to do research and draft an email 🫥 Have any of your started doing cost experiments since credits went live?

I'm not sure i would use cowork for things copilot chat can do. It's only when I need tasks executing would I pass that over to cowork. I have noticed the structure of the prompt matters. Something ambiguous (and a bit rubbish) like “Create a PowerPoint from our sales CSV showing performance. The CSV in the Sales Team" is more expensive than when you give cowork the info it needs (Using the sales CSV linked here, make exactly 5 slides — performance summary of our top 5 customers)

Copilot Cowork Generally Available
Cowork in Microsoft Copilot became GA today. I've been using it in early access for months and its pretty amazing BUT Microsoft changed the billing model for usage credits on top of the monthly user subscription. This changed the game to a non-starter for most small businesses in my opinion. Check out the announcement here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2026/06/16/copilot-cowork-is-now-generally-available/ In my screenshot i show a calculator indicating expected cost per user per month as estimates. Have any of you been using cowork?

I've been discussing this with a few clients (all SMES) and the majoirity of them have decided to stick with Cowork and set a budget (typically it's around $300pm). I have been quite surprised by this. When I first heard the news I thought it would be a no go but that doesnt seem to be the case. Has anyone has similar or diffrent experiences?

@Nick Ross One example is a HR company. The lead consultants are using cowork to examine 100s of different files (for HR policy reasons or something) and then getting cowork to perform further actions based on whatever it finds. This particularly company is only allowing cowork for a few lead consultants but they reckon the time saved is worth the additional spend. Using the /cost skill most of these tasks use around 5000 ish credits. The task will be used 2-3 a month by 2-3 consultants. So budget will be tight and they may have to increase. Some other basic things like arranging my week, triaging emails etc they are going to use copilot chat and save the heavy stuff for cowork.
