@Christopher Lavis I applaud you for mentioning "cheap frags"! I have been shunned by some of the bothers here on this site for mentioning "cheap frags" in some of my posts. Of course, I should mention, they were also dressing me down for some posts that I happened to make and they did not appreciate. Yet it was clear they also judged me for mentioning or citing some cheaper fragrance to register and support their disappointment in (and discredit of?) me. I was stunned by it all actually. And it has taken me some time to recover and come back to this site and respond to someone such as yourself. Gratitude to you for mentioning that there is some 'value' in "cheaper frags" that do not disappoint. Cheers!

Yes, and I only saw those two "asks" about stopping today 1/28/2026. And...I did not make any responses after and when those 2 "asks" were posted. Aside, from that, those posts have since been deleted by BOS admin folk. Okay, sure, the "ballroom" was something I put in a response, and it was meant in jest. It appears it was taken seriously because the comment came back defending the ballroom, actions thereof, and the respondent gave misinformation about it. I am sorry so many of you took offense. How long have you been holding on to this resentment about me and my contributions that appear to be too lacking and or not good enough for you? This is really amazing how this has all come about and what forced the hand of the Brothers of Scent. Do you have/hold the same silent animosity towards other Brothers in this forum? I'm really stunned, and a little curious, by the reactions and why/how they have surfaced here and now. But I do not expect nor need a response from you. And....I know I am not talking about the world of fragrance in this post....I am responding to folks who are also not talking about the fragrance world right now either. It appears I am the target for something else entirely...

Yes, I suppose I am coming off as "the victim" in my word and thoughts on all this. --It has just floored me though when I logged in today and saw all the, drama, as you say, about me and my contributions and accusations about my character thereof. They felt like attacks. And so, my amygdala said to either flee, fight, or freeze. I choose to fight -it's in my nature-- and defend so it comes off as the "victim". The smell of fear can be intoxicating and make one crazy drunk for sure! Really! I appreciate your care and humanity in your response to me. I do not have a lot of time to be on this forum due to having a demanding job. That is probably why you have not seen much of me. Maybe...Versace Man Eau Fraiche and or Dylan Blue...Channel Platinum Egoiste might work too. They are moderate price range (maybe $60-$80 depending upon where). Freshies and Blues usually work in a crowd of university students and professors. I have also found some "clone frags" at Burlington Coat Factory for low price. They go by the brand called: DECLASSIFIED. They may not have much silage but, still, on your skin, while in your study carrel, it can be pleasant --or for that someone that might lean in close to you asking the meaning of relativity. 😎 One DECLASSIFIED frag I picked up was a clone of Baccart's Rouge 540. DECLASSIFIED's name for it is: Crystal Rouge. It's sort of cross between a freshie and oud. --Some have referred to it as smelling like an antibiotic. Not sure what that means but I can sort of understand that it could mean it goes on clean smelling like rubbing alcohol and then has a nice scent of rosewood and water --sort of. It's light though so if you are worried about standing apart from others then it will not give you away. Unless, of course, someone leans in and finds you out to be smelling real fine, and classy cool... Best of luck to you in your search and your studies!

David, that used to happen to me too. I found when I was going too fast and furious to find that elusive scent, the scents found me --clogged and confused. I've slowed down these days. I try maybe two and that's it. After all, I only have two arms to apply a sample to sniff if it's going to work with me. I can always go back another day or weekend to try another 2 if the 2 I tried last time didn't make the score. I take my time now. Sometimes the package is attractive. But, like people, what's inside that package might not be right for me -regardless of the surface beauty! When I'm enticed by so many attractive packages, rather than try them all, I do a search for the notes inside before I apply. If those particular notes are interesting and or they are notes that I like, then I take a chance to consummate the relationship! Save your nose and, like the song goes: "Slow down...ya move too fast...ya got to make the morning last!..." Cheers!
