Flail flop and fuddle if you will
This was supposed to be my first podcast! Now it’s just an image 🤣 Right after @Daniel Garza hopped on I found out you’re not able to record from the Google meet app on the iPhone. I thought I had a genius workaround of just using the built in screen record feature. But apparently screen record does not capture audio! So now I have an hour long video of two talking heads with no audio 🤦‍♂️👏🤣 Still had a great time connecting with Daniel though, learned a lot about why his community feels so free. He truly wants The Story Renaissance to be a place where people come to write, at all levels and in whatever style. If you enjoy writing on any level and would like to do it more check out his community!

Thank you so much for having me on! I really enjoyed the conversation and I learned a lot from your perspective too. Technology 1, us 0 this time but I would absolutely love to come back for another try.
What do I have to lose?
That’s the question I asked myself during an awesome zoom call with @Rasheed Hooda. He helped me see that I can just give playing guitar for money a try. Why not? It doesn’t require me to quit my job and if it starts making enough money to pay the bills then I can have way less stress in my life and more capacity to focus on the things I love. Reach out to him, you won’t regret it. You can also checkout his community linked below ⬇️ Embrace Your Inner Weirdo

That question is everything. Most of the time when we actually stop and ask what we have to lose the answer is not much. Sounds like a good call and a good nudge. Hope the guitar thing takes off for you. 🎸
The Discipline of Documentation
Toughness means having the strength to ask for help before you burn out. Join supportive groups. Connection is a visual style. If you can command your own schedule and document your journey, you can command your results. Integrate integrity into every activity. Integrity is confirmed by actions, not declarations.

Really like the line about integrity being confirmed by actions not declarations. That one sticks. And the idea of documenting your journey is something I think a lot of people skip because it feels like extra work but you’re right, there’s something powerful about being able to look back and see how far you’ve come.
Good Life Reset Day 5
Today we tried being more intentional about slowing down. Leaving the phone behind, cooking a slow meal, or taking the long way. I chose to walk to the store instead of drive, step back from trying to build, and go to the park with my family. How did you slow down today, or not? What was your experience like? Walking to the park with your family is such a simple but good choice. Mine was sitting down and watching Premier League soccer matches for a few hours, no phone, no half working on something in the background, just actually watching. It sounds small but I realised how rarely I do anything without multitasking. That was the slow down for me today.

@Abe Bray I don’t use time blocking but I think it would be a good idea. I’m also thinking about getting up earlier to do my YouTube/community stuff but I’m such a night owl that it’s nearly impossible for me 🦉😂
Limiting beliefs
Sometimes you don’t realize how many limiting beliefs you carry until you start trying to live the life you’ve dreamed of. What beliefs are holding you back right now? Let’s swat ‘em 🏸🦟

Mine is that it's too late to start. I've been writing for years but only recently started putting it out into the world and building around it. That voice in my head that says you should have done this ten years ago is loud. But the truth is the only version of too late that actually exists is never starting at all.
