eBay Advice for new reseller.
Hi All, I join the community yesterday and introduced myself. Looking for some eBay advice from the more experienced resellers. I’m fairly new to reselling and currently sell mainly Mens clothing on both Vinted and eBay. Vinted is performing reasonably ok for me, but I’m struggling to get the same traction on eBay and I’m trying to work out what I’m doing wrong. Over the last 30 days on eBay I’ve had 61,224 impressions, 567 listing views, 0.8% click-through rate and 0.7% sales conversion, with 4 items sold. I think my photos are good, I put a lot of effort into titles/keywords, include measurements and try to price realistically, but clearly something isn’t converting. For those doing well with clothing on eBay, do those numbers look low to you? Is it likely to be the stock I’m selling, pricing, titles/photos, or simply that I only have around 60 active listings at the moment? I currently don’t promote listings — should I be? And does still selling through a private rather than business account make any difference to visibility? Or is it simply a patience thing? I’m trying to understand where to focus my effort rather than just throwing money at promoted listings. Any advice or comparisons with your own eBay CTR/conversion rates would be really appreciated. 👍

I will then caveat this by saying, you can go further by looking at sizes sold, colours, material. Maybe the sold market is dominated by certain sizes,.colour, model,.material etc...

@Adrian Cartlidge Your welcome, just set a profit margin your comfortable with and try stick to it and of course when selling it on eBay, factor in the fees and promotion. Mine for example is at least £10+ profit and I promote at 6%. So even when I'm sourcing at £8 which is my average buy price (I source on vinted) I need to have a fairly good idea that the specific item can sell for £25+ after my research, as I also need to make room in my pricing for discounts and offers. It doesn't always work that way In truth as nothing is ever perfect, but even when it doesn't it's always lesson learned about that item/brand/category, style, sizing etc and I cant think as of yet where I have come away at a loss or only broken even. All the best
Possible player worn
Hi i have this Chelsea jacket player issue. It has the number 23 written on the label which from my research is a common thing that kit men do so they know who's jacket it is. Now from my research i believe it could of been worn by Connor Gallagher as he was number 23 at the time. Is there anyway i can prove this, google gemini says it could worn by him as it all seams right but cant say 100%. If it is worn by him wouldnt that make it more valuable.

I think the issue with marketing as that is you would need proof, such as a picture of him wearing the jacket, certificated etc. It could be a selling point definitely, if it's wrote on the tag number 23, but the truth is anyone could have done that, from the buyers point of view, you could have done that. Still these player issues ones go for good money, so you will get a good return regardless
Sellers ❌ Item
Fellow Vinted snipers do you also suffer with this? Buying an item obviously cheap then the seller comes back with a lame excuse as why they cancel the order after they researched why it sold so quickly. Just picked up a Berghaus Tramantana fleece £12 all in, buyer cancelled because he is new to the app and priced it wrong. I have a Barbour x White Mountaineering Collab, just bought for £15 all in, wouldn't be surprised if that gets cancelled too.

@Emily Roestoroff Yep gotta love the blurry photos in 2026 which looks like they have been taken with a Nokia phone camera and just got this out of storage.

Picked up of Vinted for £5, it has what I imagine are beer stains on the collar as you can see and the arm. But for 5 quid still no brainer, I'm sure the original owner must have tried getting the stains out, but I will give it a go. As for the signatures, Ai believes them to be legit. I think this was cheap because it's stained.

Update on this. I took a £45 Offer on Vinted. Had two resellers who specialised in this exact market, both offered me £40 but we're not budging anymore, then some random user offered me £45, I took it. I would have had to spend an extra £15 on getting the signatures authenticated. A quick sale, could have held out but I try not to get to attached to an item. It's all about cash flow.
Help on this one please
Hi all, picked this up for a couple of quid recently. I can’t seem to find a similar one anywhere! Is it a fake? Can anyone help me identify it? Cheers in advance

My A.I. is saying this is a bootleg unfortunately. Looks really cool though.
