Can you spot the tower garden?
This was a basil/mint/mustard green tower I grew from clones this summer. I couldn't help but notice that the tower garden itself seems to have vanished into a pillar of green....

Would smell wicked with just a light breeze around your place.

@Chad Miner with the tower garden how do you measure which pump is sufficient for the height of the tower?
Sick kids = Pause life
If you watched the last live, you may have noticed that it was only a 1/2 hour rather than the typical hour long live. I also mentioned that my little girl Chloe was sick. Well, she gave it to my oldest boy, who then gave it to their Mother, who generously shared it with our youngest boy. A week and a half later and I am climbing out of a pile of dirty tissues as the sole survivor of this plague. Which is always fun, being the healthy one in a house full of sick kids and a sick wife.... all of that to say, sorry I haven't been around to answer many Q's this week. I'm back, kids are better, let's keep growing!

I have something like this as well going in my house right now as well. My heart goes out to your family for a quick recovery
Link for AC Infinity
Hi Chad, we're going to invest in the AC Infinity Hydroponic Meter PRO Kit, All-in-One pH Pen, Interchangeable Probe and we want to make sure you get the credit for it. Would you put your affiliate link here so we can give you the credit. Thanks!

Lighting Acronym Cheat Sheet
I am making myself dizzy with all of these acronyms. I wanted to make a list of all of the lighting acronyms and what they actually mean so we can sort all this out once and for all! - PAR this stands for Photosynthetically Active Radiation and it is the word we use to describe the light waves that plants can actually use for photosynthesis. Think, colors the plant can see... - PPFD this one is a mouthful, Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density. This is how we measure the lights intensity. It is measured with a PAR meter at different distances from the light to give you a PPFD map (a bunch of squares that show you the power) This is measured in micromoles of photons per square meter per second (µmol/m²/s) -obviously right?... - LUX this is short for Luminosity which refers to the brightness of a light, not the power. Think Lumens are for Humans PAR for Plants... - LED this one means Light Emitting Diode. LED's are not light bulbs but rather a tiny circuit that plugs into a circuit board. They use a combination of semiconductor materials and phosphors to produce a broad range of light wavelengths that mimic natural sunlight. - DLI the Daily Light Integral is the end all be all first and last word in measuring your plants light. This measures PPFD over Time, taking the hours of light your plant will receive in a day into consideration along with the PPFD to calculate the DLI. Questions? comments? bring em...

The DLI thing I haven't been able to fully figure out if I'm being honest. So I guess having to figure out what power I'm pushing to the canopy first with my led lights is the first thing
What's your problem?!
What is your biggest hydro gardening problem currently? mine is that my tomato plants are getting bigger than I ever expected them to be and they are, well, monstrous. And honestly the worst part is that everyone in my family is already sick of tomatoes from the last harvest.... lesson.... Grow what you will eat.... a lot of..

@MariahNByron Edgington Ive seen success with people using cotton balls and the soft cotton makeup remover pads just pulled nearly in half both have a good water and air retention. I usually do the paper towel method in a ziploc and held up vertical so the tap root instinctively starts to root down. I do this mostly as Im out of town for work for days at a time and its easier to plant something with a straight pointing tap then a corkscrew shape

I normally run @ 25-50% of suggested solution ratio and watch for changes in growth and leaf color. Im a bit paranoid running hot and burning or killing my plants. Once I have my the plants more established I'll increase by 10% a week till I see everything looking lush. I live in a cooler climate and my tent never gets above 25° (77°) and does get to about 18° (64°) when lights are off. I would like to Build an NFT system in the greenhouse so I can grow a bunch of strawberries for the kids so I how I can learn on here to do this
