looking to purchase used laser pistol

Hi @Kevin Montford and @Hayden Marrs I would be interested in knowing more about purchasing my first pistol/target set. Is the base model inadequate for elite competitions? Is purchasing used pistols/targets ok? If so, do you recommend a particular website?
