#10: Benedek Santa - Procrastination, Stoicism, Happiness. https://anchor.fm/thesheasbypodcast/episodes/10-Benedek-Santa---Procrastination--Stoicism--Happiness-e1kpnuc I hope you find something of value in here. My biggest take away was: what does it mean to be happy? Can we be happy/ fulfilled while still desiring more and trying to make progress? Or do we need struggle to have meaning, and does happiness have to be occasionally sacrificed for this? Currently I believe it is possible to enjoy the journey while striving to improve. I also believe some form of struggle/ challenge is necessary so that you have a purpose. I'm still thinking about it and yet to come to a conclusion in my mind. Just some food for thought. Your opinions are appreciated. Forgive the self promo.
Recently an idea came to my mind to try doing some old-style interviews with people from the crypto space. By "old-style" I mean written interviews instead of doing podcasts. I thought about either creating a list of questions for a given person and then waiting for a reply or - if someone wanted to have a chat - transcribing the chat into a written form as in old-style magazine interviews. What do you think?
I like this statement, but why curious as to why you specified "a group of people they care about". Since the internet reaches everyone, and in the beginning you're just broadcasting into the void, it just doesn't seem very targeted to any group. Unless the word group is being used very broadly? Perhaps I'm also harping on a minute detail here.
With my video I’ve been producing them chronologically. I’ve been recording a section then editing it. I have also heard lots of people have had success with batching. E.G. do the script one day, record one day, edit one to two days, make the thumbnail and title on one day. I’m thinking of trying out/ starting to batch. Which do you think is better?
Agree with Corey here. In theory, the batching should be the most efficient way. But that's not always what's most important, to you or the work. Definitely worth trying pretty much everything and experimenting at this stage. You might find that you like batching certain aspects and not others. Or you might find that having a whole day to script helps you think of better shots/b-roll to add while filming. Curious to see what you find.
Here is my second installment of building a machine versus a job. My goal is to share the realities of running a business and how things can change, just when you think you have a plan!
In the beginning, it was hard to gauge what the video was actually about. Only until 1:47 did we discover the lesson was about flexibility (and even though this word was in the title, it was the last word which made it seem less important). It would've also been great to hear the pros and cons of flexibility/pivoting – are we changing too much/too fast to notice or track any differences? It's definitely a balance, and exploring the nuance might have made for a more interesting discussion. This is a nice length video for a quick business lesson that I think a lot of people can benefit from– keep it up!
