Weekend Checkin
How’s everyone’s weekend going so far? What’s everyone’s plan to stay within their calories this weekend?

@James Hegazy thanks! Today I am doing all of my laundry and bagging it all. Yesterday at walmart I picked up a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread as my birthday treat. Definitely not my traditional Black forest cake but still tasty!

@James Hegazy thanks! Laundry hasn't gotten done. In too much pain from yesterday. I have one load in the washer to transfer over from yesterday and it is going to take two cycles to dry but there isn't a lot of linens left to dry, only my 125 balls of yarn 😅

@James Hegazy i am currently 373 lb. I am fairly certain I hit close to 400 at the beginning of December. People say I look smaller and my clothes fit better. The only time I am weighed is at my doctor's office.

In ten months my weight shifted up by 40 lbs
A win
Ok, so, I am in an eating disorder recovery program and one of the main 'rules' of the program is to stop tracking calories and weighing myself all the time, so understandably, I gained a lot of weight. Most of my clothes don't fit properly anymore and breathing is difficult, but gaining weight was expected as I had been restricting for so long. My body needed time to recover and stabilize. I have been eating largely the same thing since the end of december: Breakfast: 2-3 eggs over easy, 1/4 block of spam, 2 slices buttered toast Lunch: Instant noodles or a microwave meal Dinner: takeout pizza or grilled cheese or chicken fingers and fries Snacks: rice crackers and homemade hummus or apple and peanut butter or toast with jam and peanut butter Occasionally I will supplement with a boost if my body needs the extra fuel (say I have a day where I am out all day, or I have a full day of cleaning). It is the high protein one and sometimes what I will do is replace breakfast or lunch with the massive berry/boost/protein powder smoothie that has a whopping 44g of protein. This brings us to the win: I AM FINALLY LOSING WEIGHT BECAUSE MY BODY IS SETTLING INTO ITS WEIGHT NEUTRAL STATE!!! i haven't weighed myself but the sweater I wear all the time that was too small to fit over my stomach now sits nicely. I thought at first my sweater had stretched so I put on my jacket which had also been tight and I found that was also looser than previously! I know what I'm eating isn't weight loss ideal. Right now I am working on feeding myself well. My task starting in April is to feed myself a high protein diet on $50/week and two small meals/day from meals on wheels. Once I am eating more protein then I will focus on going back to the gym. Anyone else have a win recently?

How did your weekend go? Did you stick to your plan? What could you have done differently next time?

I didn't stick to my meal plan this weekend... I ate way too much bread. This always happens when there is chili in the house- i enjoy 2-3 slices of bread and butter with each bowl, and I had 3 bowls yesterday. Luckily, I will be in my own place soon and I will be able to prepare and freeze my own meals so there won't br an overabundance because it will be frozen!
Ready to get going again
Hey everybody! Long time no update! Life has really stretched me to my limits this past year. Hard to believe a year ago I was in a shelter. I ended up going home and having another person move in with me who convinced the landlady to illegally evict me. I spent a month couch surfing and then landed in the place I am now. I am moving again at the end of the month, into someplace wheelchair accessible and subsidized, but I am excited. I have actually gained a bunch of weight, and I am struggling to be ok with that now while still wanting to increase my movement and restart strength training with the motivation to get strong and mobile, and not necessarily to lose weight. I started an eating disorder program this past fall and it has really changed how I look at food and my body and now that I am eating enough to fuel my body consistently I am finding I binge less. This makes me excited to bring the training piece back into play. How are you all doing?

@James Hegazy oh for sure, I have been through a lot. I have been looking back at my life a lot lately and have taken a hard look at the impacts of the hard moments and I can tell you without a doubt that every hard time has been setting me up for something good. So I welcome the evolution of this hard time into something better. I have been learning to only worry about those things that I can control, and it has done wonders for my mental health. Now to work on my physical health!
