Intro
Hi I’m Helen. I am from the U.K. I have a sewing machine but don’t have much experience. Looking forward to learning more.

One of the easiest ways I have found to advance your sewing skills is to sew something you like. For starters look around your home and find things you like that are shaped in a square or rectangle (pillow case, curtains, old bath towels (cut them down and practice hemming them), making matching towels by sewing a strip of fabric on (washcloth, hand towel, or bath towel Hang for decoration in bathroom , same with kitchen towels and sew apron to match (rectangle gathered with belted strip at top to tie around waist), place mats, table runner, coasters(small square 4"x4", small fabric 1, square plastic sandwich bag 2, and small piece of old towel 3, sandwich the three pieces in order sew together and trim with same fabric. leak proof and washable. Just look around and challenge yourself. You will be perfecting your skills while updating your decor with usable items. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing!
