FIRST COACHING SESSION
Do you always do a full hour first session? I know someone that does a 30 min free consultation. I've seen a platform for coaches where you have to choose from a 15, 30 or 60 min free first session. I'm interested to hear how people start with a new client.

I am not sure how a 15 minute free coaching session would work other than potentially being similar to using bait on a fishing hook, a way to get the client to strike (commit to payment of services). A first conversation of only 15 minutes may allow you to somewhat identify a limiting belief that is held, but would provide very little time to identify what the client wants, limiting believes, and then to confront the beliefs. In the perspective of getting people to sign on it is likely a good idea for an initial consult/first session.
Where is self-care overlapping with the sacred 4 or is it the same?
Coaching is a rewarding but demanding profession. You have to listen attentively, ask powerful questions, provide feedback, challenge assumptions, and motivate action. You also have to deal with complex and sensitive issues, such as career transitions, conflicts, fears, and doubts. All of this can take a toll on your energy, creativity, and resilience. If you neglect your self-care, you may experience fatigue, frustration, boredom, or compassion fatigue. You may also lose your passion, confidence, or effectiveness as a coach. How can you use self-care to improve your coaching practice? https://www.linkedin.com/advice/how-can-you-use-self-care-improve-your?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&utm_campaign=share_via

Everyone in a helping profession runs a high risk of being depleted in various ways due to the nature of what we do, and the knowledge that we are there to assist in the development of another persons higher self/state of being. This can cause internal conflict between our needs and what we believe to be our obligations to the client's needs. We need to provide very clear boundaries and parameters on what we will provide to and what their access to us includes. Then we have to ensure that we do not violate those boundaries by providing more than we have committed to. This may be especially challenging in the beginning as we are trying to build a client base as well as testimonials/referrals/positive word of mouth in order to promote our services. NEVER IGNORE YOUR SACRED FOUR! You need this for balance, productivity, and life satisfaction. The way I perceive it is that everything within the sacred four is self-care, but the sacred four is a minimum level to maintain, it should not be looked at as the completion of what you may require at times to meet your self-care needs.

DAY 53! I TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE!
All of it! I have saId it before and I will say it again: taking responsibility for everything in my life is the only way to make necessary changes to create the life I want! Is the only way to heal from childhood trauma! And the only way to live and learn! And for growth!

The longer I repeat it, the more impact those words are having on me. I am only at about half the number of days that you are. Keep going; you are an encouragement those of us behind you on the task.
