Coaching Boundaries
Wanted to share my experience with boundary setting as a coach. As my number of clients has been increasing, It's been harder to have loose boundaries. When I started in a helping profession I was posed with the question "What types of people and issues are you comfortable and uncomfortable working with?". My answer was something to the tune of "I'm comfortable with everything and everyone, obviously!". I'm now learning that its not a bad thing to be aware of you strengths and weaknesses but actually a beneficial skill. I can't help EVERYONE and that's okay. Confidently referring someone to another coach or service when it's outside of our wheelhouse is better for everyone. Being clear about the coach/client relationship is better for everyone. How have you handled boundaries professionally? Has it changed over your career?
I'm in!
I just signed up for the founder offer, such a great offer but not sure my husband will agree .... first port of call = getting paid for my coaching for any new clients.....case studies are finished! Excited to get better at this. And today I today I became a certified trauma-informed coach - such an exciting journey we are all on 🙏🥳❤️

I start my day with out my phone and try to jump right into exercise. Even if its not vigorous and just a walk. I try to give myself some space to be alone for a 10 minutes here and there to do some mindfulness and physical grounding
First Client!!
I had my first call with a client last week! I put a coaching ad on a local online buy/sell/job board and got a few responses. Was able to set up an introductory call and it was an awesome first experience and wanted to share. I have done lots of practice scenarios with other coaches and friends but this was my first client. Although they had taken the initiative to call they were very adamant that they knew best and could handle their issues alone. Much more resistant than I had expected. They really wanted a referral to something CBT based. I explained coaching, how it works and learned a bit more about them. Ultimately they were open to coaching and said they would get back to me. Sent an email with a resource list for them, documented everything and journaled about my experience. Really proud of myself! I'm interested through which avenues you found your first clients? I think my next step will be leveraging my own social media and online advertising. Curious how people on here market themselves. Thanks for reading, have a great day!
