Luminaries (January 2026)
Our first community project is finally here! If you check out the classroom there are two brand new tutorials for making either a hand-built or wheel-thrown version. My hope is that you would run wild with this project and make it completely your own. This thread is for questions, comments, and brainstorming. Feel free to ask questions, answer questions, and post progress pictures. Have fun, be encouraging, and make something you love!

Did you get any pottery things this Holiday?
I didn’t get anything directly pottery related for Christmas, but I did get some LED lights for my studio! I’m working on making my home studio a lot more video friendly so I look slightly less like a troll in his hidey hole. Did y’all get any pottery stuff?

@Michelle Harris I appreciate that! I plan to put my kiln in a protected porch so I’m on the fence about the vent since it is open air. From what I’m reading the Skutt vent is better for interior air flow regardless. Thoughts?

@Trey Foster I do the same lugging water. With the cold temps here (26) I have contemplated using a fish tank heater to keep some of the water buckets atleast a little warmer. Serious thought, I have a painting room inside my home. How bad/dusty would it be if I transferred everything inside?
