Coffee Hour - This Saturday!
I want to jump on a call with those who are interested and play around with the next custom tool that will hopefully help any pilot with their career progress: a "SWOT" analysis geared for aviation. Come join us and let's all test it out together! Check out the Calendar for the time (1400 Toronto Time) and link to join!

Hey JD. Would like to join in but do t think it applies to me at my stage in life lol! Sorry haven’t been checking in here been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. However I do have an idea for a calculator. I think you were asking for ideas someplace else in here. I have been playing with it myself through AI. I’ll keep you all in suspense 😂😂

Sounds good JD! And I was planning to join 😂. I am enjoying my time on FCL and contributing where I can. Mentoring is becoming a mission for me. With regards to the calculator, I’m attempting to build this little tool that figures out how much of a flight is actually “official night.” You punch in the departure and arrival airports and local times, it grabs all the nerdy data—coordinates, time zones, sunrise, sunset—and spits out how much of the flight counts as night. The problem is… my computer skills are somewhere between “basic user” and “should probably not be trusted with settings,” so I’m hoping to hand this off to you to polish it up and make it actually work the way it should. What do you think? Is this valuable idea? I am tired of trying to figure out my night time when I am flying from day into night 🤪
How do you stand out?
Hi everyone! I'm working on something new, which I hope will feed right into the new pilot question: "how do you stand out?" For now, tell me - what's the biggest challenge you're currently facing? Learning? Leading? CRM? I want everyone to know that this is an open forum and YOU are welcome to post and start conversations as well! Drop a gif of your current mood this week!

Curiosity is reshaping how I lead—teaching me more about myself and reminding me that leadership begins with asking better questions. What has curiosity taught you about your own growth?

@Jean Denis Marcellin 100%…it is first learning to be curious about yourself and learning to lead yourself and loving yourself before you can lead others.
Change one thing
If you could change one thing about your pilot training or career what would it be? For me, I would have wanted to receive more insight on performance psychology!

Greater self-awareness and emotional intelligence could go a long way. While airmanship and common sense may be declining, understanding ourselves better might be part of the solution.”
Take a Breath!
Every inhale primes action. Every exhale restores control. The body was designed to balance stress with peace: breath is the switch. Here’s what science and human design reveal when you intentionally slow down.

@Jean Denis Marcellin this is a good reminder that when We are faced with an emergency to stop and breath, ask for a cup of coffee and the resultant “calm precision” will help us to face the crisis on the flight deck. This could also help when dealing with personal conflicts and save us from saying something we didn’t want to.

Okay I’ll let you how I make out. I have a couple other zoom calls coming up this morning, so I’ll probably get to it later today.
