Consistency
I’m recently getting back into going regularly to the gym after a hiatus. What tips do y'all got for staying consistent with going to the gym and eating healthy and staying in a deficit. It’s probably the biggest thing I struggle with.

Consistency - For getting back into the gym, the thing that helped me the most was constantly being aware of the fact that I wanted to change and change is built through discomfort, and you're going to be uncomfortable, wanting to wake up everyday and put your body through torture is not a human necessity nor do we strive to want to hurt ourselves. You just have to power through those emotions and know this is what you want. I would start off by just slowly getting back into it just go maybe 2-3 times for the first couple weeks then ramp it up more so your body get's used to it. You don't want to jump straight in go 6 days and you'll get too warn out to want to persist. Eating Healthy/ Deficit The easiest way to stop eating junk food and bad food that has a lot of calories and stuff that adds up fast and or foods you like eating in excessive amounts F.E. : ice cream, chips, soda, etc. just to name a few. Keeping these just out of your house is the best way to avoid eating like crap. It's easier when you live alone I understand you don't but, same thing with the consistency of the gym if you start slow and ease into it, it will be naturally easier. People set these impossible goals of going from eating pizza and fast food one day and then the next day trying to only eat chicken, rice salad etc. It's not sustainable to switch your life around like that and that's why a lot of people quit. So all of that just to say Slowly ease yourself out of junk food, start by eating less and less of it, substitute it with healthier options. Maybe something that's more fat free/ calorie friendly, and go from there. Also try to eat stuff that makes you feel fuller it will neglect you from wanting to eat more, such as rice anything that is going to fill you up quick. For staying in a deficit there are great apps you can use most of them are paid for but there are some basic free ones that are good "My fitness Pal" is free " and it's easy to track calories and such. If you want a really good one get "RP diet coach" you have to pay but it's really good its what I use. If you know your deficit then apply that into the app if you don't know there are ways online to find out what it is for you. If you want the real hard way that I did, I wanted a change fast and I don't recommend it for most people because it is not sustainable and it will make you feel unmotivated and you will have NO energy ever during this time but, Intermittent fasting mixed with calorie deficit if like the fastest way to drop weight. I was 247 when I started my cut and I was 220 flat this morning. I do intermittent fasting a lot and I run all the time so it can be a path but it is not sustainable for a long time and you will not have energy to do anything.
