First Amazon reviews are in! Gratitude for this community & still seeking honest feedback
Hey everyone, I wanted to circle back and share an exciting update from my hyper‑niche non‑fiction launch for Fueling the Night Shift: Practical Meal Prep for Nurses Working 12‑Hour Nights. Shortly after my earlier post here, I received my very first Amazon review. This 5‑star review came from Dr. Cecily Wang, a trauma surgeon & ICU physician. She purchased the Kindle book and shared genuine positive feedback that she found the book useful. Getting validation from a front‑line medical practitioner feels incredibly rewarding for this niche project. None of this small early progress would have happened without this community. The perspectives, author insights and general encouragement I picked up here helped shape my launch approach. I’m really thankful for this space for independent non‑fiction creators. Book link for reference: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HC52ZHYT I still have additional free eBook copies ready to share. If hyper‑niche healthcare‑focused non‑fiction interests you, or you know readers who fit this night‑shift nurse audience, feel free to DM me. All I ask in return is an honest, unfiltered review after reading. Positive ratings are not required — raw real feedback is what helps me improve the work. Curious to hear from other authors here: what was your reaction when you got your first meaningful early review for your self‑published book? Thank you again!

Congratulations! That is really awesome!
Hello
Hi everyone — I'm Connie Woolsey. My book is Forge Your Freedom, coming in 2027. It's the story of how I climbed to VP of retail in Florida's cannabis industry — building stores from the ground up during COVID, running on caffeine, fast food, and whiskey just to sleep — while quietly falling apart on the inside. A health scare finally forced me to stop overriding every signal my body was sending me, and the rebuild that followed became my framework: the Ownership Practice. Taking full responsibility for your life, without the burnout or the blame. You are your problem, and you are your solution. Where I am: deep in copyedits and working toward a 2027 launch with Book Launchers. Honestly, the writing has been the (surprisingly) easier part — right now I'm focused on learning how to launch well, especially since I'm building my audience mostly from scratch. What I'm hoping for here is, truthfully, the people. I'd love to learn from authors a few steps ahead of me on launch and platform-building, and to cheer on the folks who are earlier in the process than I am. This road feels a lot less lonely with company. Really glad to be here — can't wait to meet you all.

@Joe Tyndall Thank you! Two books validated and about to publish — that's a huge milestone, congratulations. That "scary publish button" is the bravest part; all the work up to it is preparation, but hitting it is the actual leap. Rooting for you when you do.

@Rob Cole Thank you! And wow... CHAMP, right after Prop 215? You were there at the very beginning, when just showing up took real courage. The industry I stepped into looks almost nothing like that: highly regulated, corporate, medical cards, compliance, retail build-outs on a deadline. Honestly, the world I worked in only exists because people like you did the early, unglamorous, risky work first.
