Topic for 5/6 "Objection Handling #002"
The votes are in! This Wednesday's topic for Objection Handling #002 is "I'm spiritual, not religious". We will try to keep this structured with short, concise conversations so we can get in as much as we can. Be sure to check out the calendar for meeting link and time. We are shooting for 7pm-8pm going forward for these Wednesdays meetings!

I finally got someone to come test drive Moms car- of course they can only come at 7:00 tonight😒 but I'll try to jump in our meeting ASAP. Couple of questions I thought of for "spiritual" people: Where did our spirits come from? Where do they go when we die? What is your standard for right & wrong? What do you do about harmful things done to you and done by you? Where do you find peace? 🙂
Next Week's Topic
Alright everyone, it's been decided! Moving forward we will be choosing a "topic character" for each week's Objection Handling meetings on Tuesdays. I believe this will be beneficial in a few ways. For one, it will keep it a little more structured, but more importantly, it will give us a reason and a timeframe to look into other belief systems. Last meeting, someone asked the question if we should be looking at other religions and ideologies, or if we should stay strictly in the Bible at all times. It is my personal belief, and this is simply my opinion, that we should understand all belief systems to some extent. Now, there is a difference between understanding and deeply studying. I think if we are to meet people at their level to share our faith, it is important to understand where they are coming from, as long as while we study, we keep in mind the ultimate truth and look from an outside objective perspective. "Know thy enemy" is a common quote for a reason. On that note though..... it is important to remember that these people are NOT our enemies. In any way. They are simply people who have yet to accept the truth. That does not make them bad, or evil, or anything else, it simply makes them people who need to be reached. Someone brought up a good point after this last session, we need to be careful about making assumptions about people. I had made a comment to the effect of "these people who are not Christians". It is not my place, or anyone else's other than God himself, to judge if anyone is saved. We should be coming at these conversations from a place of honest interest in understanding where people are coming from and helping them to see our point of view, not from a place of adversity. So all that being said, let's decide what we will be doing for next week, so that people can have a chance to look into that particular ideology. Be prepared enough to play the role of that particular person in Objection Handling practice and in doing so, you will also learn to overcome their objections to the truth (remember, no one is forced to participate in the meeting, you are welcome to just watch, but this is still a great opportunity to look into and learn about other perspectives either way).

@Allison Bentley First because we don't know how much time we have here on Earth. And a close 2nd is because the decisions we make in our everyday lives are totally based on our beliefs- ie. do we live like we have forgiveness and hope or do we live in shame and fear??
