Moodboard Monday
🌸 Moodboard Monday 🌸 Some people see a mess of flowers. I see a color conversation. This week's moodboard started with those rich blue hydrangeas and wandered from there. One flower whispered, "Bring the navy." Another insisted on olive greens. Before long, warm orange and deep burgundy had pulled up a chair too. Funny how creativity works. It rarely arrives alone. That's one of my favorite exercises when I feel stuck. I don't ask, "What should I create?" I ask, "What colors are already telling a story?" This palette could become: 🎨 A painted dresser 🛋️ A cozy living room 🪵 A website design 🧵 A quilt 📸 A photography edit 🏡 Even the inspiration for an entire room. There are no creativity police handing out tickets for unexpected color combinations. Sometimes the colors that "shouldn't" work together end up creating something unforgettable. Your Creative AF challenge: Find one photo today that catches your eye. It could be flowers, an old truck, peeling paint, a coffee shop, or a random puddle after the rain. Pull 5 to 6 colors from it and build your own moodboard. Then tell us... What would you create with this palette? Let's fill the comments with color and inspiration. You never know whose next masterpiece begins with your ordinary photo. 🎨✨

@Kelly Huskins fun fact, the soil contents can change the color of the blooms. I had a blue one and 2 seasons later, it was pink.

@Kelly Huskins that makes me chuckle lol
Deadline Missed. Chair Finished. Dad Happy.
Well… I said I was going to finish Dad’s chair by last Friday. And here we are. A week later. 😂 In my defense, I got into it and discovered I didn’t have any jute webbing for the base. Apparently chairs require actual structural support and not just creative determination and a staple gun. Who knew? So I ordered the webbing, waited for it to arrive, and once it showed up, I got back to work rebuilding the chair from the inside out. Tonight I finally gave it to Dad. ❤️ He was pretty happy when he saw it and immediately told me, “It’s too pretty to sit on.” Sir. That is literally why I rebuilt the chair. 😂 So naturally, I made him sit on it anyway. A week later than I planned? Yep. Did it matter in the end? Not one bit. Sometimes a project takes longer because you procrastinated. Sometimes because life gets in the way. And sometimes because you discover halfway through that you are missing an apparently rather important piece of chair anatomy. The deadline might have been mine, but this moment was the whole point. Chair finished. Dad happy. Project off my plate. Butt successfully in seat. ✅ I’m calling this one DONE.

Focus Friday
Some days you wake up ready to conquer the world… and some days life walks in like, “Yeah… we’re gonna need a softer plan today.” 💛 If your focus feels off, scattered, or just plain hard… it might not be a discipline problem. Sometimes… it’s because your heart is holding something bigger. Right now, mine is. Our sweet Simply is nearing the end of his journey… and my mind keeps drifting back to him. And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: 👉 You can still show up AND feel it all. This morning I gave myself two 20-minute pockets of focus… and honestly? That felt like a win. Not because everything is getting done… but because I showed up in the middle of the grief I’m carrying. So if today feels heavy, try this instead: 👉 The Gentle Focus Method Pick ONE thing. Set a timer (10–20 minutes). Give it your attention… and nothing else. Then pause. If your mind drifts back to what’s on your heart… don’t fight it. Give it a moment. Let it breathe. Then come back. Because focus isn’t about shutting life out… it’s about learning how to move with it. ✨ So tell me… what’s your one 10-20 minute thing today?

Gah.. grief is hard. Proud of you for showing up and recognizing where your heart needs to be. Thinking of you
It’s WTF Wednesday…
WTF = What’s The Finish 👀 👉 What did you actually finish since last Wednesday? Not what you planned. Not what you started. Not what’s 90% done sitting on your table… ✨ What is DONE enough to call it finished? Done doesn’t mean perfect, it just means you decided it’s finished. Drop it below 👇 What's mine??? I decided not to spend hours editing the WTF Drop designs this week and call them good. That's actually hard for me, believe it or not. I spend a lot of time editing the details. This week, I was practicing/teaching myself how to prompt AI to show movement and to mashup styles. I'm sure you can tell which ones were about movement, and the angel was the only style mashup worth sharing. (it's a mashup of photograph, oil, and acrylic painting) I'd love to see what you called done last week, and tell me which one of these is your favorite.

I need to confess something… 😏
I have had an Easter door-hanger project since the end of February, and it is almost finished. It’s cute. It’s a bunny. It had BIG “look at me being seasonal and decorating” energy. And guess what? Easter is in 3 days… and that thing has been moved to the bottom of my to-do list more times than I care to admit. Like… at this point, are we decorating for Easter or just aggressively planning for next year? 🫠 So now I’m sitting here asking myself: Are we freeing the bunny 🐰 or promoting it to content queen? 😏 Because let’s be honest… am I really hanging it on my door for 3 days? Or am I just trying to prove I can finish what I started? 👀 And THIS is where it hit me… It’s not about the bunny. 🐰 It’s about the fact that I keep carrying things that don’t fit my current energy anymore… …and then I sit here wondering why I feel stuck. And I have a feeling I’m not the only one 👀 So try this with me today: Pick ONE thing from your list and ask: Is it... ✨ A MUST do (non-negotiable, now) ✨ A WANT to do (fun, but not urgent) ✨ A NOT NOW / MARINATE (future, stop touching it) Then decide: ✨ Let it go ✨ Move it up ✨ Or give it a real deadline (or a new purpose 👀) Because it’s not the list… 👉 It’s all that undecided/unfinished energy sitting with it Please tell me I’m not the only one with a project quietly judging me from across the room 😅 👇 What’s your “Easter bunny project”? ps... (you can get the bunny design in @Connie Beaty Green Velvet Subscription box HERE.)

I was going to do them today but then the preschool scheduled an Easter egg hunt and that seemed more fun. I truly do plan to do them tomorrow
